Nigerian Artistes Who Are OAU Alumni

Nigeria has a lot of artists, such as musicians and actors who are graduates of Nigerian Universities. A few of them listed below are graduates and alumni of Obafemi Awolowo University, popularly known as Great IFE. 


FIREBOY DML

A hot cake in the industry Ademola Adefolahan popularly known as FIREBOY was born on the 5th of February 1996. He came into the limelight through his popular song "Jealous" which was released in 2018. He obtained his degree from Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) Ile ife having studied English.

 BLAQBONEZ

Emeka Akumedule professionally known as Blaqbonez is a Nigerian rapper signed to Chocolate City, he is popularly known for his distinct rap style as well as his creative ingenuity, he was born on the 29th of January 1996. Blaqbonez is a computer engineering graduate of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) Ile Ife and is gradually dominating the rap world and music industry.

ASAKE

Ahmed Ololade popularly known as Asake is a Nigerian singer and songwriter. He is signed to YBNL Nation. His stage name "Asake" is his Mother's name. Asake was born on the 13th of January,1995, he studied Theatre and Dramatic Arts at Obafemi Awolowo University in Nigeria, he began releasing music in 2017 and his career took off in 2022 with the single "Mr Money".

CHINKO EKUN

Oladipupo Olamide Emmanuel professionally known as Chinko Ekun is a Nigerian rapper and songwriter, he was born on the 13th of September,1993. He is a native of Ikare in Ondo State. He graduated with a law degree from Obafemi Awolowo University. His song 'Able God' won the Street Song of the Year at the City People Music in 2019.

LAGBAJA

Bisade Ologunde professionally known as Lagbaja which means "anonymous" is a songwriter, he is widely known for his signature use of a mask that covers his identity. He attended Obafemi Awolowo University Ile ife. Lagbaja believes in social reform through music. He released his first album titled "We Before Me" and over the years he has dropped many hit songs.

CHEQUE

Akanbi Bamidele Brett popularly known as SUPERBOY CHEQUE is a talented Nigerian singer and rapper. He obtained his B.sc in chemical engineering from Obafemi Awolowo University. He started his music career in OAU and got signed to Phyno's Penthauze Imprint in February 2019, he released his first song in March 2019 which was titled "NYEM SPACE". 

BUKUNMI OLUWASHINA

Bukumi Oluwashina is a Nigerian actress, producer, screenwriter, and singer, she was born on the 7th of May,1990. She hails from Okemesi - Ekiti. She holds a bachelor's degree in Theatre Arts from Obafemi Awolowo University, she has songs to her credit. Her awards include the 2015 Best Actress of the Year award from the Best of Nollywood Awards for her film Ayomi.


FAVE

GodsFavour Chidozie professionally known as FAVE SZN is a Nigerian female singer and songwriter, she was born on the 13th of March 2000, and she gained recognition after releasing several minutes-long videos on Twitter during the COVID-19 lockdown. She is still pursuing her degree at OAU. She won the Rookie of the Year Award at The Headies 2022.

OAU RELEASES FINAL LIST FOR 2017/2018 ADMISSIONS.

Friday, 12th January, 2018. By Olufemi Alfred .O.     In lieu of a recent publication by OAU KILONSHELE about the release of admissions list despite the strike, it has been gathered that Obafemi Awolowo University has submitted the final lists of admitted candidates to the Joint Admissions Matriculation Board (JAMB) on the 10th of January.     However, JAMB has began the uploading of the names on the Caps  section of the website as about 20 students have been confirmed by OAU KILONSHELE  to have been admitted      All candidates (Direct Entry and JAMB applicants)  , awaiting their names should log on to the JAMB website and check if they have been admitted.

OAU ADMISSIONS MERIT LIST UPLOADED ON JAMB WEBSITE.

      Few days ago, OAU KILONSHELE posted the release of Obafemi Awolowo University merit list for 2017/2018 admissions, it has been confirmed that some of the aspirants have seen their names on  JAMB's website.       Admission status can be viewed on the CAPS section of the website.           Below are the step by step procedures to access JAMB CAPS 1. Visit jamb.org.ng/efacility  preferably using a PC or chrome browser on mobile. 2. Login with the credentials( email and password) you created your jamb account with. 3. After successfully logging in, click on the options button ( the button with 3 dash) at the top of the page. 4. You'll see CAPS under the tag 'Admissions'. Click on it and you'll be taken to the CAPS page. 5. If the page only shows 'welcome', do not be discouraged. Just click on options on your mobile's browser and change the view of the page to 'desktop view'. This is why it's preferable to use a PC. 6.
