 Olabode Oluwafemi   In the early hours of Monday, Ile-Ife residents were thrown into anguish as commuters and students got stranded at almost every Ile-Ife bus stop as they await the commercial buses to convey them to their various destinations and location. ASUU OAU Sets For Protest Rally

Olabode Oluwafemi   The Academic Staff Union of Universities, Obafemi Awolowo University branch has announced a one-day special congress and protest rally which is aimed at dissenting the half payment of their union members' salary as against earlier reached agreement with the Federal Government after suspension of the eight months industrial action. In a release obtained by OAU KILONSHELE , the congress is scheduled to hold in the early hours of Wednesday, 23rd November, at the First Bank Lecture Theater where every member of the Union is expected to converge and to be equally followed by a  rally. The protest which is tagged "Protest against the casualization of the academics in Nigeria" has the Great Ife Students' Union President, Olayiwola Folahan as a guest speaker and other ASUU veterans. Great Ife SRC Observes First Business Sitting, Takes Recess

Olabode Oluwafemi  The Great Ife Students' Representative Council held its first business sitting since its inauguration in Awo Cafeteria in the late hours of Friday.  The Speaker, Ajadi Toheeb, cited that the sitting ought to have held but due to circumstances beyond control. Chief Of Defence Staff, Lucky Irabor Commissions Remodeled Students' Union Building

 Stephen Tolulope   (PHOTO CREDIT: Instagram/ @greatife_su) The Chief of Defence Staff, General Lucky Irabor Commissioned the newly renovated Ken Saro Wiwa Students’ Union Building on Saturday, 12th November 2022, at the Main Hall, African Centre of Excellence, Obafemi Awolowo University.  The general who sponsored the renovation expressed that OAU has had a great impact on the life of many alumni and the country as a whole.   He charged the students’ Union body to have a clear direction with the capacity to lead.   In his remark, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Simeon Bamire amidst welcoming the Chief of Defence Staff, appreciated the efforts committed to renovating the Students’ Union Building.  While being grateful that the renovation took place during his administration, he confirmed that this is the first time that the building will enjoy a comprehensive renovation. He further noted that the University buildings have been built for over 50 years, and over time, some of the buildings h
