    The post UTME Aptitude Test for 2017/2018 admissions has commenced today 23rd of September.    Oau Kilonshele gathered from candidates that have written theirs earlier today that there are 40 questions altogether - 10 from each of the Four registered subjects. All questions are meant to be attempted within One hour.     Candidates that are yet to write are advised to get to their venues in good time with their print out slip. Direct Entry Candidate's Application now activated: 12 Noon, Wednesday, 20th. September, 2017 .  Direct Entry (DE) candidates will be able to use this platform admissions@oauife.edu.ng  for registration.  Direct Entry students won’t participate in the Aptitude Test but rather be subjected to a special administrative process. Direct Entry (DE) Candidates should ensure that their transcript is forwarded by the Awarding Institution to the Admission Officer, Registry, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife for DE  All post UTME applicants can now print out their slip.....  Oau Kilonshele News Agency wishes applicants success in the Aptitude Test. 

(UPDATED) NASU, SSANU, NAAT SUSPEND STRIKE ACTION (SEE REASONS) .

     The non-teaching staff Union of Universities(NASU, SSANU, NAAT)  have suspended their 11days old strike in the early hours of Thursday, September 21.    This was pronounced at a media briefing in Abuja, where the Chairman of the Joint Action Committee (JAC), Sam Ugwoke announced that the strike was suspended for the government to fulfill its part of the Memorandum of Understanding signed with FG within a month.     The Minister of Labour, Chris Ngige expressed government plans to meet up with the necessary agreements. The union has now issued a detailed statement explaining why it agreed to ceasefire, and what will be done after one month. Read the statement below. OAU POST-UTME: INFORMATION ON EDITING OF CERTIFICATES AND PRINT-OUT SLIP.

Opportunities to Update O'level  The National Examinations Council (NECO) has released results for the exams conducted in June/July 2017. This is the rarest opportunity for UTME and DE candidates to update their O’level certificates via their dashboard by Login with their  credentials ( i.e.  UTME No.  and  Surname)  and Clicking on  Edit My Certificate(s)  on the left margin and edit as appropriate. This functionality is available till  Friday, 22nd September 2017  after which the facility would be disabled. ASUU STRIKE : STRIKE SUSPENDED AS LECTURERS RESUME TOMORROW

     The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), which has been on a strike action for over one month, has suspended the strike till the end of October for the government to  fulfill its part of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed in 2009.      The strike declared on the 14th of August was suspended in the evening of Monday, September 18, in a meeting with the Federal Government  at Abuja.      Lecturers of Universities have been instructed to resume back to their offices on Tuesday.      However, in a conversation with the Zonal Chairman of the union in South West, he declared that there has been no directives from the National headquarters.      "We've not heard anything from the National and can't comment on the suspension of the strike." he said.           Olufemi Alfred .O. UTILIZATION OF THE 3.85M RELEASED: OAU STUDENTS OPPOSE CEC PROPOSED PROJECTS.

         The students of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife expressed their views on the projects that the 3.85m naira, the 2nd tranche of the backlog released by the University management to Dr. IBK led administration, will be used for.      The first tranche of the backlog released by the University management few months ago was used for the purchase of the 14 seaters bus, which led to controversies from the students, legislative and judicial arm of the Union.      On Tuesday, September 5, the CEC (Central Executive Council) members in a meeting resolved to utilize the 3.85m for for the refurbishment and purchase of equipment for the Great Ife Students' Union Library, construction of relaxation centre and sit-outs and construction of Staircase around Alumni-Archi axis.   According to our source, who was present at the meeting, it was gathered that the school management proposed the purchase of another bus with the released money. SSANU, NAAT, NASU STRIKE: OAU BREAKS AWAY FROM NASU TO FORM NUATSU.

   On Wednesday, the Joint Action Committee headed by Samson Ugwoke declared an indefinite strike which will take effect from Monday, 13th of September.    The Joint Action Committee comprising of the Non-Academic Staff of Universities and Associated Institutions (NASU), Senior staff Association of Nigeria Universities (SSANU) and National Association of Academic Technologist (NAAT), in a meeting in Abuja agreed to embark on the strike action.    In Obafemi Awolowo University branch, OAU SSANU and OAU NAAT are the only unions in support of the strike action. OAU NASU has refused to be part of the decision because they see NASU national body as a sly.      In a meeting of all OAU NASU members yesterday , September 7, at the University sport complex, the Chairman, Mr. Wole Odewumi, publicly declared that the branch has detached itself from NASU national and has formed the Nigerian University and administrative and technical staff Union.(NUATSU).    we are no longer interested

    In a Central Executive Council (CEC) meeting of the executives of Obafemi Awolowo University students' Union, held in the office of the SU President on the 5th of September, Jacob Grace (EMERALD) , the Vice president and Mr. Afolabi Adedayo (LAMBA) , the Director of socials, had a clash which resulted in to the beating and headbutt of the VP while the DOS sustained an injury on the hand as a result of handling of broken bottle by the VP.     The meeting, which began in the evening, had eight Union Executive officers in attendance with the purpose of deliberating on the projects that the 3.85M naira, the 2nd batch of the back log, which the university management had released to the present administration, will be used for.     In an interview with one of the Executives present, who sought anonymity for the fear of being victimized, it was clearly stated that ; "As the meeting was going on, several suggestions were made and so as to be able to present presentable proje

SSANU, NAAT, NASU STRIKE: OAU BRANCHES DECIDE THE FATE OF THE UNIVERSITY.

   For almost a month now, the Academic Staff Union of Universities has begun an indefinite strike, which took effect from 13th of August. The strike was borne out of the government failure to fulfill the provisions of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed with both academic and Non-Academic staff unions.    However, all non-academic staff unions-Non-Academic Staff of Universities and Associated Institutions (NASU), Senior staff Association of Nigeria Universities (SSANU) and National Association of Academic Technologist (NAAT) have  been contemplating on embarking on an indefinite strike for the same reason. OBAFEMI AWOLOWO UNIVERSITY ILE - 2017 ADMISSION SCREENING EXERCISE (FOR UTME AND DIRECT ENTRY CANDIDATES) Candidates who made the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife their first choice in the 2017 UTME and scored 200 and above, and those who applied for Direct Entry (DE) are hereby informed to log on to Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife website (www.oauife.edu.ng) or admissions.oauife.edu.ng to register for the POST-UTME screening exercise effective from September 11, 2017. MISSING STUDENT FOUND BUT RUNS FROM HOME OVER DISAGREEMENT WITH MUM

    Abiri Gbenga (bigie) a part 3 student of psychology (Obafemi Awolowo University) , who was declared missing yesterday, September 1, has been found on campus but has refused to show up at his residence in Ile-Ife.     He was seen around 8:00pm at the Students' Union Building of the university. In a conversation with Mayowa, his friend who met him that evening, he said Gbenga was looking okay but looks like he has something to hide because he didn't disclose his whereabouts even when told that he has been declared missing.     Mr. Abiri Oluwadamilola, his elder brother, when contacted, made it known to our correspondent that he has been found on campus but has refused to come home. In a bid to question the elder brother further, it was revealed that Gbenga had a disagreement with his mother before he left on Thursday, August 31.   "He had issues with our mummy but he has been forgiven. A PART 3 STUDENT OF PSYCHOLOGY DECLARED MISSING FROM HOME.

    Abiri Gbenga, who was also identified by his departmental mate as BIGIE has been missing for the past 24hrs after he was sent by his mum to go and withdraw from the bank on Thursday, 31st of August.     The part 3 student of the department of Psychology, resides in Ile-Ife and has been home after his PSY 303 examination on Monday, August 28.     According to Abiri Oluwadamilola,  the elder brother of the missing student, in a phone conversation around 7:00pm today, he said:     " we've not seen him at home since yesterday after he was sent to go and make withdrawal for my mum. We are not sure whether he has gone to campus because his friends have not seen him either."     Gbenga's 'last seen' on whatsapp was 11:55 am on Monday, 28th of August and up till now, his phone has been switched off.     When our correspondent contacted his friends in the department, he was said to have been seen last on Monday.     If anyone has any hint or ide
