OAU PG College Holds First Annual Colloquium

Onwuka Sylvester The Obafemi Awolowo University post graduate college organized a colloquium for post graduate students and other stakeholders in the institution. The event which is the first of its kind under the present administration, began at about 8am on Thursday, at the new moot and mock court. The program was aimed at creating an avenue for postgraduate students to rub minds with the Post Graduate college management. Speaking at the event, secretary of the PG College, Mrs. A. O. Fadeyibi, highlighted the need for a healthy relationship between postgraduate staff in the faculty, college and postgraduate students. Why deputy provost,  Prof. V.F. We, the past Leaders of the prestigious Obafemi Awolowo University Students’ Union commend the daunting courage and gallant efforts recently channeled by the mass of Great Ife Students towards ridding the campus off social menaces like cultism.  We are well aware of the recent spates of cult-like violence and other sundry security breaches on our great alma mater. As Apostles of fair warning, we wish to advise all aspiring agent provocateur to steer clear and stay all concluded actions for their own good. Our unequivocal stand remains the age-long historical zero tolerance against the festering of cultism, gangsterism, rape/yahoo/ritual killings and all forms of antisocial vices on the Great Citadel of Learning. Professor Olayinka Adegbehingbe,  at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife, who was kidnapped and released recently has made known is abductors and ransom paid.  The Orthopaedic surgeon syated that he was abducted by Fulani herdsmen who took N5.045m before his eventual freedom. OAU KILONSHELE reported how Mr. Adegbehingbe was abducted on Sunday evening along Ife- Ibadan expressway and how he was released on Monday night. Eyewitnessreporters gathered that the victim made the disclosure on Tuesday Ile-Ife while addressing newsmen at his residence on the university campus. OAU Professor Regains Freedom from Kidnappers

The Osun State Police command has secured the release of Professor Yinka Adegbehingbe, the abducted lecturer of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife. This was confirmed to Channels Television by the spokesperson of the force command in Osun state, Mrs. Folasade Odoro. OAU KILONSHELE reported how Professor Adegbehingbe was abducted by suspected gunmen at Apomu town along Ife-Ibadan Expressway on his way to Ife on Sunday the 5th of May, 2019. Though the police are yet to confirm whether any ransom was paid for his release, the Public Relations Officer of the Institution, Abiodun Olarewaju confirmed that the lecturer was on the way to the campus in the company of security agencies, to be reunited with his family.
