The authorities of the division for students affairs of Obafemi awolowo University, speak on the burning issue of accommodation on campus and its availability for students.

Accommodation on campus has been a front burner issue on campus due to the increasing number of students in the institution and limited number of spaces in the halls of residence.

While addressing stranded students who gathered at the entrance of his office on Thursday, the Dean of the Division of Students Affairs, Isiaka Aransi, said  there is no  bed space available for students of the institution who are yet to be given accommodation.

He also urged the students to seek alternative elsewhere to salvage the accommodation crisis.

" There is no more space in the halls of residence to accommodate students. All spaces available have been given out to other students. And the only available option is to seek alternative elsewhere " he begged.

Trying to address a question posed by one of the stranded students as regards revoking bed spaces given to students that are yet to be cleared, Profesor Aransi made it known that it is practically impossible to revoke those uncleared bed space given to students.

" There is nothing we can do about it those bed spaces that are yet to be cleared. Whether they clear it or not It is their bed space. There is nothing we can do about it. "  the Dean said.

Recall that OAU KILONSHELE, on Monday, reported how the Vice-Chancellor of the school, Eyitope Ogunbodede, promised to build hostels with ten thousand bed spaces to ease the accommodation crisis.
