OAU Senate throws weight behind Prof Elujoba

The Obafemi Awolowo University Senate has thrown weight behind Prof Elujoba since his summon by EFCC last week which was a subsequent to his Abuja trip last semester.

        Following the summon of the Vice chancellor, Prof. Anthony Elujoba and the university bursar, Mrs Akeredolu by the Economic Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) for an interview on how they expended over 1bn, which was allegedly meant for a specific project on the payment of allowances even though the school's P.R'O slams this as a lie that the money had no budget whatsoever while speaking with Punch Newspaper.

       Some Great Ife students and Unions expressed their solidarity through shunning of academic and civic activities, displaying of placards with supporting inscriptions on them on 13th of December during the interrogative session at the EFCC zonal office in Ibadan. They waited till the acting VC whose time in the office exhausts in January 2017, was released in the late hours of Monday.


Students to leave halls of residence as notice of fumigation circulates

16th of December, 2016.

This is to inform the generality of Great Ife students that the environmental unit of the health center will commence fumigating the halls of residence on December 23,2016.

As a result of this,all students are expected to vacate the Halls of residence on Thursday,December 22,2016 to avoid contact with the chemical that will be used for the exercise ,and are expected to return and resume lectures for the Rain Semester on Tuesday, January 3,2017

NASU and SSANU OAU go on strike

NASU & SSANU OAU go on a day's strike to show solidarity to Acting VC, Prof Anthony Elujoba.

Earlier this morning, the news of Prof Elujoba being called by EFCC for questioning over alleged misappropriation of funds fly around the Great Ife campus epidemically.

As a show of support to the acting Vice Chancellor, the aforementioned Unions have sent representatives to EFCC's office in Ibadan and also go on a day's strike.

NASU, SSANU show solidarity

The acting Vice Chancellor of Obafemi Awolowo University has been invited for questioning by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission today, 13th of December 2016.

The emergence of Prof Anthony Elujoba as the acting Vice Chancellor came as a result of the controversies surrounding the election of Prof Salami Ayobami by the suspended Governing Council months back.

EFCC has invited the acting VC for questioning over the payment of arrears to NASU and SSANU OAU few months back in order to ease the protests by these aforementioned unions on campus as a clamour for the school management to pay their money, which delayed the 2015/2016 academic session resumption.

After Prof Anthony Elujoba emerged as the acting VC of the Great Ife campus, he paid a very large amount of money to NASU and SSANU to cover their owed arrears with an unbudgeted money in the school's account.

CSC 202 & 208 classes to hold on Dec 13th as OAU resumes

CSC 202 & 208 classes to hold on Dec 13th as OAU resumes

Just as announced by the school management, OAU resumes for 2015/2016 Rain Semester on Dec 11 and lectures commence immediately.

In line with the above, the department of Computer Science has released a timetable for CSC 202 & 208 as both courses will hold on Tuesday morning by 10am at AUD 1 & HSLT C respectively.
