EFCC calls Ag VC Elujoba for questioning
NASU, SSANU show solidarity

The acting Vice Chancellor of Obafemi Awolowo University has been invited for questioning by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission today, 13th of December 2016.

The emergence of Prof Anthony Elujoba as the acting Vice Chancellor came as a result of the controversies surrounding the election of Prof Salami Ayobami by the suspended Governing Council months back.

EFCC has invited the acting VC for questioning over the payment of arrears to NASU and SSANU OAU few months back in order to ease the protests by these aforementioned unions on campus as a clamour for the school management to pay their money, which delayed the 2015/2016 academic session resumption.

After Prof Anthony Elujoba emerged as the acting VC of the Great Ife campus, he paid a very large amount of money to NASU and SSANU to cover their owed arrears with an unbudgeted money in the school's account.

As gathered by our correspondent, NASU and SSANU are not seeing the payment of the arrears as their right anymore but as a charitable act from Prof Anthony Elujoba who could have followed the trail of previous VCs and decide not to pay these Unions.

If we can recall, these two Unions made a solidarity awareness in support of Prof Elujoba couple in October after the report that Prof Anthony Elujoba was called to Abuja concerning the same payment of arrears. This act of solidarity will also be staged today by NASU and SSANU members at EFCC's office in Ibadan.
