OAU MANAGEMENT REINSTATES STUDENTS AFTER MONTHS OF SUSPENSION.

Alfred Olufemi The Vice chancellor of Obafemi Awolowo University, Professor Eyitope Ogunbodede,  has pronounced the immediate reinstatement and the opening of portal of some of the suspended students. This newspaper reported the suspension and the blocking of the portal page of Gbenga Oloniniran, a part 4 student and Oyedeji Samson, a Pharmacy student, as a result of the court case against the Five students, who resisted the March 21 eviction of students from a hall of residence. Also, the suspension of Oluwalade Babatunde and Omole Ibukun sequel to the protest staged last year October against a black-out on campus, OAU KILONSHELE reported. While two students, Afolabi Samuel and Kazeem Olalekan had their portals blocked for no reason by the management. This was revealed in a stakeholder meeting of the University principal  officers, NANS zonal Secretary, suspended students and members of the Association of Campus Journalists (ACJ ). OAU VC reiterates the reinstatement of Suspended union with no specific time. Alfred Olufemi For the second time, the Vice-chancellor of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Professor Eyitope Ogunbodede, promised the reinstatement of the Students' union activities in the school with no definite time, OAU KILONSHELE can report. As mentioned on Wednesday evening, in his address at the Football finals of the university's Inter-faculty games, the VC assured the students present that he will see to the reinstatement of the Union. "If not for my participation in the students union while I was an undergraduate, I would not become the Vice-chancellor today. I will make sure we bring back the union, though we have hall executives in our hostels." Meanwhile, when the audience of students questioned the time for the reinstatement, chanting "when?", Professor Eyitope proceeded with his speech without addressing the probing audience. Arraigned students lose hope in reactivation of studentship despite court ruling. by Alfred Olufemi June 14, 2018 OAU: Despite the dismissal of the court case filed by the Obafemi Awolowo University against Five students of the university yesterday, the students' portal page is yet to be reactivated. The cancellation of the case of students facing trials over allegations leveled them by the university management was reported earlier today.  This was pronounced by Justice Omisade yesterday at Ajebamidele Magistrate court, after the 6th adjournment. Also, this news outfit reported how the five students; Gbenga Oloniniran, Oyedeji Samson, Olajide Adedamola, Jimoh Oladipupo and Adeniji John were arrested on 21st and arraigned on 22nd for opposing the forceful eviction of students from a female hostel, Moremi. According to the concerned students, all efforts made to reactivate their portal pages have proved abortive as they are still denied access to their online pages
