AN IMPORTANT WARNING TO NEW STUDENTS.

The University is aware of some unscrupulous elements spreading false information advising new students to travel down to the OAU Campus at Ile-Ife, Osun State to make their payments using fees collection agents. Any such persons or agents should be reported to the central security post on campus. Details in respect of Fees Payment has NOT yet been released as at Monday, 12 February 2018. New students are to note that Fees Payment (Acceptance, School Fees, etc.,) must be initiated on the Student Information Portal (http://eportal.oauife.edu.ng) only, after which payment can be made either on-line using ATM/Debit cards or physically at any commercial bank branch using the REMITA code generated on the eportal. OAU LECTURER ADMONISHES PRESSMEN TO WORK TOWARDS GETTING BALANCED REPORTS.

 By Waliyu Habeeb   During a media workshop organised by the Megaphone News agency, Dr. Ola Faleye, a senior lecturer of Obafemi Awolowo University advised pressmen on how to be a balanced journalist.   The lecturer, who is also the staff adviser to the news agency, emphasised on Saturday  that a journalist must be able to  give a credible source  for the news to be published. He further gave an illustration;   "the news that was widespread on campus, "scarcity of water on OAU campus", before the publication of this news,the journalists should investigate the reason for this  and what the school management is doing to rectify this problem.    The Association of Campus Journalists, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife is set to host the Oluwo of Iwo, HIM, Oba AbdulRasheed Akanbi for the 2018 edition of International Campus Journalism Conference. OAU DSA URGES STUDENTS TO VACATE HOSTELS TOTALLY AFTER EXAMS.

The Division of Student Affairs, Obafemi Awolowo University, informed  Students, currently residing in the Halls of residence, to vacate their bedspaces and remove all personal belongings after their exams. This was communicated on the 8th of February, in a public release signed by the Division. OAU DISCLAIMS FALSE REPORTS ON RESUMPTION DATE.

By Dosunmu Ayodeji.   The Division of Student Affairs, Obafemi  Awolowo University, on 3rd february,2018, disclaims all conjured rumors that was circulated by SANNI oluwadamilola,as regards the postponement of   resumption  for 2017/2018 academic session.     SANNI oluwadamilola, who was said to be reporting or campus 9ja news agency, was reported by the DSA as a disband Student of the department of mechanical engineering, OAU, since 2015/2016 Rain semester, due to his academic performance of 0.76 CGPA; who said the postponement of resumption was due to the new accommodation policy; in which DSA, in its release, refute having any conversation with him.  By Dosunmu Ayodeji.  The authorities of Obafemi Awolowo University, in a statement tagged 'Special Notice for New Students', have decided to put to rest the doubt of its aspirants concerning Fee payment and other registration, which has caused some controversies among it's aspirants. The management of OAU in this release, stated emphatically that all payment and registration should be done and completed on the university student portal. All other Channels of payment are nothing but fraudulent. " Ensure all payments are made only on the university student portal" the release stated.   Similarly, rumors concerning the release of new Students names on the university students portal was also debunked; in which aspirants were advised to check their admission status via jamb's Website. 15-YEAR-OLD RUNNER ACHIEVES GREAT FEAT IN IFE HERITAGE MARATHON RACE.

 Sunday, 4th February, 2018. By Olufemi Alfred .O.    Olayinka Peter-pan, a 15-year-old indigene of Ife central, Osun state , clinched the first position in the maiden edition of Ile-ife heritage Marathon hosted at the ancient city of Ile-ife in the early hours of Sunday, February 4.   He finished the 42.195-kilometre-long race in 2 hours 44minutes, which makes it a spectacular attempt considering his age and the world's best record of 2hours 2 minutes.     Olayinka's trainer, Coach Ola, couldn't hide his excitement having trained the young lad for a year and a half. The coach shared his previous records and attested to his determination and diligence in a bid to win the marathon.     "He took the 8th position in an half marathon last year so he was determined to make it up at this one." he said.    In an interview with the youngster, he expressed his excitement and his wishes to use this athletics skills beyond the shores of Nigeria.     &
