WAUG'23: APC Governorship Aspirant Pledges To Renovate OAU Sports Complex

Adeniran Tolulope  A governorship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressive Congress APC in Ekiti State, Otunba Ademola Popoola has assured the Obafemi Awolowo University Management and Students that his team is ready to finance, equip and renovate some of the Buildings in the University Sports Complex. Otunba Ademola, who is an Alumnus of the University, stated this on Thursday 26th October, while on his Inspection visit to the University Sports Complex ahead of the West Africa University Games (WAUG) that would take place in the University Sports Complex. He therefore affirmed that the project will start as soon as possible before the event takes place. While speaking on the streetlights at some of the Courts at the Sports Complex, he assured the management of the school that the streetlights would be fixed by a company known as Coleman, which is known as a cable company. Flourish Eniogo Emerges Winner Great Ife SU Freshmen's Debate

   Adeniran Tolulope Olujimi Flourish Eniogo, a part two student who was admitted as a direct entry student, from the faculty of Law has been declared as the winner of the Great Ife Students' Union freshmen's debate. The debate held 24th October(yesterday), at the University's 1000SLT, themed 'Accessible Education VS Quality Education: Striking the right balance between affordability and quality' was debated by Participants across all 13 faculties on campus. During the first session of the debate, the participants debated their arguments based on the points developed. After the first session, a series of questions were answered by students from six faculties as the runoff.  Along with her, Adeoye Phoebe from the faculty of Admin and Abire Esther from the Faculty of Pharmacy wins the third place and the second place of the debate respectively. OAU KILONSHELE  Boys Without Borders, a dedicated group of boy-child advocates with an impact range of more than 1000 boy-children is gearing up to establish a new campus network at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU). In light of this development, the organization is actively seeking student leaders to spearhead their initiatives on the university's campus. Shittu Clinches Most Outstanding Player in OAU Football Talents Hunt

       Adeniran Tolulope  A student, Shittu, Waliu has won the best player in the Obafemi Awolowo University Football Talent Hunt, which was Organized by Isco Sports World. The Dramatic Art Student, Waliu, who played as a centre-back alongside other members of his team selected for a trial match was awarded with a cash prize of ₦50,000. He was also awarded with football kits like shin guard, soccer boot, Jersey, headphones (JBL), etc. In an earlier report, OAU Kilonshele correspondent reported that the selected team of students was in a trial match with another selected team. Meanwhile, after the match, the triumphant team went head to head with an invited professional club, Marlianz FC. The match ended in 0-0, as none of the teams was able to score a goal. Sport: Isco Sports World Hosts OAU Talent Hunt

Ifeoluwa Adebayo   Isco Sports World, in collaboration with the office of the Director of Sports, is currently hosting the OAU Football Talent Hunt at the OAU Mainbowl.  Two teams comprised of registered students have embarked on a 90-minute showdown after a rigorous skills evaluation during the drilling section, expertly coached by OAU's Giant Coach, Faleti , and OAU Giants Captain, Toheebah .   OAU KILONSHELE Reporter gathered that two competitive teams have been formed to face off, with the triumphant team earning the opportunity to compete against the renowned professional football club, Marlinz FC.  In addition to the glory, winners will also be rewarded with cash prizes and top-quality football kits. The event had in attendance, the Director of Sport, Great IFE Student' Union, Babatunde Sadique ' Sumbade .'

The university can be an exhilarating place but not without her distress and struggles. For easy navigation around OAU campus and to keep you inclined to all her rules and regulations, what it is you have to do to not stay out of law and order, the university has provided an orientation program for you all. Faculties and departments will also be holding theirs. All of which are to make you familiar with the campus, provide you with academic resources and engage you in the student life.  There are also social gatherings arranged for you freshmen in order to improve your social life on campus and also to mingle with freshers from outside your faculty or department. LSS OAU Clears Erstwhile President Off Financial Misdeal Allegation

         OAU KILONSHELE   The Law Students' Society, Obafemi Awolowo University has cleared its immediate past and impeached Executive President, Adedokun Samuel off financial misdeal. In a document obtained by OAU KILONSHELE , filed in it a resolution of the congress held on 22nd May, had  Adedokun Samuel cleared off the financial misappropriation allegation .   It partly reads;  "The (LSRC) Speaker reiterated the grounds of the President's impeachment which includes financial misappropriation, constitutional aberration and much more. He emphasised that the weeks following the impeachment at LSRC sitting saw series of meetings with alumni body, the Dean of Faculty of Law and the 3 arms of government which Congressman Adedokun Samuel has been cleared of financial misappropriation for ICOLE." OFTH: Isco Sports World Unveils New Jersey , Sets To Launch Talents Hunt

         Adeniran Tolulope   Isco Sports World has unveiled the new jersey for the upcoming talent hunt event, the OFTH (Obafemi Awolowo University Football Talent Hunt), designed for skilled students at Obafemi Awolowo University who have interest for football. On Friday, October 13th, the OFTH organizer revealed the jersey, featuring the logo of 'Dunamis Autos,' which the players will wear during the event. The talent hunt is scheduled to commence on Thursday, October 19th. According to Isco Sports World, the event will comprise three stages: Drills, Matches, and Scholarships. The Drills stage is the initial phase where registered students will be assessed for accuracy, skills, fitness, and various basic and advanced drills. Those who qualify after the drills will advance to the Match stage. As seen, the students shut the main gate of the University, as no one was able to enter the University vicinity with their vehicles. Students, staff, other stakeholders of the University were seen stranded at the campus gate this morning.
