Shittu Clinches Most Outstanding Player in OAU Football Talents Hunt

A student, Shittu, Waliu has won the best player in the Obafemi Awolowo University Football Talent Hunt, which was Organized by Isco Sports World.

The Dramatic Art Student, Waliu, who played as a centre-back alongside other members of his team selected for a trial match was awarded with a cash prize of ₦50,000. He was also awarded with football kits like shin guard, soccer boot, Jersey, headphones (JBL), etc.

In an earlier report, OAU Kilonshele correspondent reported that the selected team of students was in a trial match with another selected team. Meanwhile, after the match, the triumphant team went head to head with an invited professional club, Marlianz FC. The match ended in 0-0, as none of the teams was able to score a goal.

Alongside the most outstanding Player, Arabi Jesunifemi from the Department of History won the most outstanding keeper.

Oshunsan Olubukola, Student of Material Science won the most outstanding female player in the female category.

The most outstanding keeper was also awarded a Glove, while the most outstanding female player received an OFTH Jersey, hose, shin guard, and a kit bag.

In addition, each of the selected XI players was given a Jersey.

While speaking on the performance of the selected students, the Great IFE Students' Union Director Of Sports, Sumbade Sadique said the students' performances were impressive. Also, he noted that the selected students are new faces of OAU Giants and OAU Giantess.

In an interview with OAU Kilonshele, the winner of the best player thanked the God Almighty, as he attested that the task wasn't really easy. He said 'But, there's one thing I would love to say in Yoruba "ja loke, ja Nile", that's how it's been so far and we keep pushing through with the help of Allah no matter what'. He also urges other students to be motivated even if there won't be anyone to do so, as they keep trying in all their endeavors.
