OAU PG College Holds First Annual Colloquium

The Obafemi Awolowo University post graduate college organized a colloquium for post graduate students and other stakeholders in the institution.

The event which is the first of its kind under the present administration, began at about 8am on Thursday, at the new moot and mock court. The program was aimed at creating an avenue for postgraduate students to rub minds with the Post Graduate college management.

Speaking at the event, secretary of the PG College, Mrs. A. O. Fadeyibi, highlighted the need for a healthy relationship between postgraduate staff in the faculty, college and postgraduate students. Why deputy provost,  Prof. V.F. Olaleye, admonished participants on adhering to rules and regulations for hitch-free PG operations.

Furthermore, participants were also educated on the use of data analysis as well as statistics & Interpretation of results by Dr.  B. A. Faleye, who doubled as a member of the PG college Board.

Meanwhile, Provost of the Postgraduate College, Prof Y. A. Ajibade, in her remarks,  charged postgraduate students towards ensuring quality in processing forms and theses at the college. She also seized the opportunity to urge researchers to eschew all forms of plagiarism,  but to rather understand and digest concepts before reproducing them.

Highlight of the occasion was a question and answer session between participants at the event and the PG college management. The use of the new online Form A, a new initiative from the college was also demonstrated by Mr Gbenga Adeyanju.

Recall that Professor Y. A. Ajibade recently emerged as the first female and 11th provost of the Obafemi Awolowo University Post graduate College.
