ASUU STRIKE : STRIKE SUSPENDED AS LECTURERS RESUME TOMORROW



     The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), which has been on a strike action for over one month, has suspended the strike till the end of October for the government to  fulfill its part of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed in 2009.
     The strike declared on the 14th of August was suspended in the evening of Monday, September 18, in a meeting with the Federal Government  at Abuja.
     Lecturers of Universities have been instructed to resume back to their offices on Tuesday.
     However, in a conversation with the Zonal Chairman of the union in South West, he declared that there has been no directives from the National headquarters.
     "We've not heard anything from the National and can't comment on the suspension of the strike." he said.
