Junior Chambers International (JCI), OAU Inducts 89 New Members

The Junior Chambers International (JCI), OAU on Saturday 16th December,  inducted 89 new members of the association. The induction program, themed "Building Resilient Leaders through Active Participation," set the tone for an event focused on nurturing leadership skills and community engagement.

Speaking at the event, JCI OAU President Habeebullah Oyekola emphasized the significance of active participation in shaping Resilient leaders. "Active participation is not about sitting on the sidelines and watching the world go by. It's about jumping in, getting your hands dirty, and making a difference," he stated. 

Oyekola urged the new members to embrace challenges, step outside their comfort zones, and participate wholeheartedly.

A Theme speaker at the event, Promise Isaac, the 2024 JCI Nigeria Southwest Collegiate Chairman, while delivering his speech virtually emphasized the community as the foundation for life development. He encouraged new members to adhere to the association's constitution, commit their time, energy, and resources, maintain consistency, and actively communicate ideas within the JCI community.


JCI OAU Alumni present at the event shared their experiences as members of the organization and students while on campus, advising the newcomers to be actively involved in the association. 

A Keynote speaker at the event Lawal Alawode, JCIN Ambassador highlighted resilience as a key attribute of a leader, urging the new members to be dynamic in the face of a rapidly changing world. Alawode emphasized JCI's commitment to providing training for personal development and creating valuable networks through active participation.

"You must be dynamic. JCI will teach you how to prepare yourself for challenges as a Resilient leader. The organization is ready to give you training to be what you want to become in the future and one of the factors of influence is active participation. The only thing that can edge you above others in this dynamic world is active participation in JCI as it will help you in developing yourself and create a good network." He said

The event also celebrated outstanding members with awards and certificates of appreciation for their selfless service to the organization. The Vice President of JCI OAU, Eniola, in her closing remarks, urged the new members to remain active and committed to the ideals of Junior Chambers International.

The induction ceremony concluded with a sense of anticipation as the new Jaycees embarked on their journey within JCI, equipped with the knowledge and inspiration to become resilient leaders through active participation.
