Earlier on Wednesday, November 15, the handball team of Obafemi Awolowo University won in a match against the handball team of Oyo state sports council at Adamasingba stadium in Ibadan, Oyo state.

The male category friendly match, that lasted for an hour, ended with the score of 28 goals against 18 goals. The university team led with 5 goals in both the first and second half of the match.

Ademuwagun Simeon, Okeya Sunday, Dikko Ibrahim, Agboola Francis, Nworie Arinze, Adediran Adeyemi and few other students represented the school in the match.

Ademuwagun Simeon, the team captain, expressed his excitement after the match.

"Though I'm not surprised that we won the match. We've always been beating the Oyo state team and this is not new. We thank God for that and we are looking forward to more matches being fixed." said Ademuwagun.

The Coach of the team who is also the Sports director of the university sports council, made known his optimistic opinion about the team.

"This is an attempt to get them ready for university games like NUGA and WAUG. If they can play with a state team and win, I see no reason why they should not knock out any university team in a tournament." Abu Adamu asserted in an address.
