AK WISDOM PROVES OAU MANAGEMENT WRONG ON HIS PREVIOUSLY CIRCULATED WITHDRAWAL.
Few weeks ago, the Management of Obafemi Awolowo University in a widely circulated letter, disclaimed Mr. Osungbade Akeem, the executive chairperson of Angola hall of residence and a part 2 student of the department of Zoology, on the basis of poor grades.
In the letter dated 16th of October, the university, through the Registrar, claimed that he has been withdrawn because his CGPA is below 1.0, that is one of the criteria for the activeness of studentship.
"Osungbade Akeem Olaboye (aka Wisdom) had been withdrawn from the university on the account of his poor academic performance in 2015/2016 academic session." letter stated.
It was confirmed by OAU KILONSHELE that against the report of the management, Osungbade's Cumulative Grade point (CGPA) is well above 1.0 even with pending release of some of the tests scores of both the First and second semester for 2015/2016 academic session.
The confirmation was backed up with pictorial evidences that our source won't want to be out for public consumption, owing to security and litigation reasons.
When asked about what took him so long to debunk the claims of the institution,
"I've been sick all these while and I'm just getting better. Some of my results came late because I did my part 1 registration lately. " he replied.
Meanwhile, he linked the alleged withdrawal to a political rivalry between himself and the impeached Students' Union President, Oyekan Edward also known as Dr. IBK.
"A member of the security unit once told me the alleged rustication was as a result of my stance against Dr. IBK oppressive moves and I will never be a supporter of oppression and corruption. "
" AK WISDOM as he is popularly addressed had problems with the president. Being the hall chairperson of Angola hall, he resisted the tyrannical and despotic leadership of Dr. IBK. I wasn't surprised when they came out to say he is not a student. " a student, who sought anonymity for the fear of being suspended, explained
In a conversation with the Head of the department of zoology, Dr. Awodiran confirmed that Osungbade is still an active student of the department.
' He is our student' Awodiran said.
The public relations officer of the varsity, Abiodun Olanrewaju stated that the student should write the office of the registrar if his results prove otherwise.
" Let him go back if the letter issued is inversely proportional to what is in his result. He should write a letter to the office of the Registrar through his H.O.D"
Can it be said that the university is not aware of the results of the Students before releasing a disclaimer to that effect?
Osungbade, however, made it known that he may probably sue the university for such act.
"I might later end up taking legal actions against the action of the school. "
