The  Medicine Students News Agency held a memorial lecture in honour of Eyitayo Adeosun, a medical student who passed on in his final year on Saturday.

Mr. Eyitayo was a lover of literature and the former Editor in chief of the Medivoice(Medicine Students News Agency).

The event, which was also aimed at reviving the legacy and passion of the deceased, featured alot of students writers from OAU campus, especially those from the News agency.

Other dignitaries present were Ayobami Adebayo, the author of "Stay with Me", Miss Adeosun, a family member of the deceased and a representative of the Dean Faculty of Clinical Sciences.

The guest speaker, Dr. Dami Ajayi, stated that life is memorable when you live a legacy no matter your profession, discipline and life view. And that the beautiful thing about it all is that "there is an existence through literature.

"Through Literature, we are meant to live over and over again in the memory of men and this is key to once purpose of life" he said.

Also, he admonished that it's not the years in life that counts but the life's impact in those years.

"Eyitayo is gone but his memory and good work still live on simply because of his literary and life impact" he said.

While prioritising the space of digital publishing, Dami Ajayi said that having one's works available on the media should be one of the focus of the young writers due to the rapid technological development.

And the Dean's representative also encouraged aspiring writers to take writing as important as every other other thing because it can pay off later in life just as in the case of Dami Ajayi, the guess speaker.

"So, don't jeopardize the place of literature in human life just as I will not encourage you to  jeopardize your academic career as medical students and other disciplines."

Miss Adeosun, the family member said  while the family member still remember Eyitayo till today is simply not the fact that he was a medical student. It is simply because of his impact to life through literature. Thanks to everybody here presence to make anew the memory of my brother" she said.
