The Law Students' Society, Obafemi Awolowo Universit, Ile-ife has dissolved her  Students' Representative Council by a congressional resolution.

Meanwhile, the election to usher in new SRC members has been slated to hold on Tuesday, 11th of December by 4pm at Old moot court.

Recall that OAU Kilonshele reported how the Gen Secretary and two other executives were reinstated in a congress after being indicted and punished by the SRC.

The refutal of the decision by the SRC speaker was also reported by this agency.

However, the society has dissolved the SRC and has also started the process of electing new honorables. This was made known in an article released by the electoral committee.

"Pursuant to the constitution section 10(b) which says: Vacancies occurring however during the session shall be filled through bye-election to be conducted within a month of such occurrence."

"In line with the provisions of the sacrosanct constitution of the Law Students Society. The electoral committee of the Law Student Society will be conducting a bye election which has been necessitated by the congressional resolution which dissolved the leadership of the L.S.R.C and also the understanding that no sane society can operate without a fully active legislature."

"The election will take place tomorrow on Tuesday by 4pm at the old moot court. All honourable members of the Law Student Representative Council are thereby mandated to be available as this will be a leadership determining election."

It should be noted that in the congress where the impeached General Secretary and the two suspended executives were reinstated, the SRC was mandated to write an apology letter that will be published on a national newspaper and all news agencIes on campus which the Speaker disregarded and labeled as a decision that was against all laws and unprecedented.

Meanwhile, the speaker, in a conversation with our correspondent condemned the moves of the executive arm and revealed that they will claim their legitimacy back on Tuesday

"We are claiming back our legitimacy tomorrow. The press should make themselves available," he said on Monday.
