Some departments of Obafemi Awolowo University have released their examinations timetable for the 2017/2018 session amidst the academic shut down in some parts of the university.

OAU Kilonshele can confirm that the department of Botany and Zoology has released their examinations timetable which will commence on the 14th of January, 2018.

Recall that the school's academic system is not running smoothly currently as a result of the disagreement between the Academic Staff Union of University (ASUU) and the parallel body, Congress of University Academic (CONUA).

This news outfit reported how ASUU started a strike as a result of the inability of the government to meet her demands in the 2009 agreement and how the parallel body of ASUU OAU, CONUA refused to join the strike. The analysis, reasons and effects were also reported by this news outfit.

However, the department of Botany and Zoology have realeased their examinations timetable in less than a month to the start of the examination.

Although, there haven't been lectures at all in some classes while some have been having but not consistently and it's just one month to Exam.

In an interview published, students lamented the state of academic activities in their departments urged the university to revisit the calendar

Meanwhile, the school have twice clarified that the academic calendar remains unchanged and that the school still continues with normal activities.

The PRO, in a conversation with "The Nations" clarified the university's stance. The management also revealed earlier when the strike started  that there are no plans to tamper with the academic calendar.

"Wish to assure all students that the University Academic Calendar for the 2017/2018 Academic Session is very much on course. There are no plans to compel students to vacate the campus until the end of year holidays and all members of the University community must be unanimous in the resolution to ensure that the Calendar remains sacrosanct."

"The University Management therefore enjoins all students and staff to continue theit normal activities in line with the University's approved guidelines," the Registrar noted.
