OAU Tech week kickstarts with exhibition, sets to empower 1000 students

OAU technological skill empowerment programme powered by office of the President OAU Great Ife Students' Union, Olayiwola Folahan- Reform led administration has kickstarted with an exhibition.


The empowerment programme is aimed at training 1000 OAU students with tech skills including intensive certified training of students on robotics and drone technology from July 10 to July 22 and a laptop empowerment scheme with zero-interest installment payment.


The exhibition enabled an opportunity for 7 teamed-up students to peach their problem-solving technological innovation and the best 5 team in turn gets tech mentorship and monetary fund.


According to one of the organisers, their initial targeted students for the empowerment programme is 200 which subsequently increased to 1000 students through the aid of sponsorship. Students were equally tasked students to be problem solvers while it also features giveaways.


 

OAU KILONSHELE in an interview with one of the participants, Ibrahim Afolabi, a Part 4 Student of Computer Science and Engineering lauded the organizers of the event and expressed his delight after his team emerged as winner. 

"It's a privilege being the winner, it's not actually our effort alone. We appreciate the organizers of this event." He said.

The next line of event is a conference and feature session with technological experts, to take place at New Moot and Mock Court by 9:00 AM on Tuesday.
