JUST IN: Protesting Students Shuts Students' Union Building Following Death of Colleague



Following the widespread news of a Civil Engineering final year student beaten to death for theft as earlier reported by OAU KILONSHELE, protesting students have stormed the students' union building shutting it down.


The protesting students who made their way to the building on Wednesday morning as gathered by our correspondent placed it under shut to hinder activities and movement to and fro the building.


Meanwhile, a release signed by all Presidents in the Faculty of Technology indicated that there would be a "Peaceful Protest" on Tuesday at 7 am to express their grievances and hold all parties involved accountable.


Recall the institution's Management in its press release signed by the University Public Relations Officer, Dr. Abiodun Olanrewaju confirmed and equally condemned the action that led to the demise of the deceased also stating that a committee will be set up to investigate the issue thoroughly. 

"Saddened by this ugly development which he described as unfortunate, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Adebayo Simeon BAMIRE,

has set up a committee to unravel the circumstances that led to this incident.

The action of the mob, being a violation of the law of the country and of the University regulations, has been reported to the police who have commenced investigations." The release stated.
