NAPAS Holds Symposium, Advises New Students to Prioritize Academics

The National Association of Public Administration Students held its symposium on November 30th, 2023 to welcome the freshmen of the department. The symposium aimed at guiding the new students through their academic journey and gave them practical steps for them to adjust to their Campus life.

While giving her welcome speech, the president of NAPAS Anuoluwapo Odedeji, stressed the significance of the university motto "For Learning and Culture". She therefore advised students to prioritize academics and spiritual growth for long-term success.

Present at the event were lecturers in the department, which include Prof T.A Olaiya, Prof Popoola, and Dr. lecturers shared valuable insights, emphasizing the vital roles of academic commitment and self-care to the students.

Also, Yusuf Najat from CIPM HR OAU and the Editor-in-Chief of Public Voice, Aluko Emmanuel, encouraged students to join the association and the News Agency present in the department.

Speaking on the theme of the Symposium, "Adapting to University Life: Independent and Responsible Studentship," Professor T.A Olaiya emphasized and highlighted the importance of perseverance and setting meaningful goals beyond immediate achievements.

The speaker of the Students' Representatives Council, Rt Hon Olanrewaju Oluwatobiloba elucidated the role of the NAPAS Representative Council, urging students to elect representatives for effective representation at the departmental Representatives level.

An interactive segment comprising games, quizzes, and giveaways added a lively dimension to the symposium, fostering engagement among attendees.
