Ọmọlúàbí Night: OAU Kilonshele, reporters clinch four awards

Lawal Olanrewaju   OAU Kilonshele clinched the best News Agency (Online Category) at the  Ọmọlúàbí dinner, handover, and awards ceremony night  of the Association of Campus Journalists' (ACJOAU).  The atmosphere was filled with anticipation as members gathered to witness the transition of leadership and celebrate the accomplishments of the outgoing team. The electrifying night was a mix of emotion and empathic disposition by the erstwhile Gbolahan Latinwo, who served as the 51st President of the association 2022/2023 handed over to the newly elected President of the association, Olabode Obafemi, who will serve as the 52nd substantive President of the association along with his team cum next session. Former OAU Kilonshele EIC, Oluwafemi Emerges ACJOAU 52ND President-elect

Abdulbasit Abdulkareem    Two Reporters of OAU Kilonshele News Agency have been elected into positions in the Association of Campus Journalists. The election held on Saturday, June 1st, between the hours of 10 am and 12:30 pm at the association's secretariat, saw the former Editor-in-Chief of OAU Kilonshele, Olabode Oluwafemi (Obafemi) elected as President and Tolulope Adeniran as Chairman, Guild of Editors. Oluwafemi, who is currently serving as the Public Relations Officer of the incumbent administration, clinched the presidency with 29 votes, despite facing stiff competition from his opponent, Awotunde Theophilus, who secured 13 votes.  Similarly, Tolulope Adeniran, the current Editor-in-chief of OAU Kilonshele emerged with a total vote of 34 as the newly elected Chairman of the Guild of Editors.  The election, overseen by the ACJOAU Electoral Committee Led by a former PRO of the association, Adekunle Famuyiwa, was lauded for its fairness and transpare...

Orisatoye Aminat The Association of Campus Journalists, Obafemi Awolowo University has hosted its awaiting insightful Conference for campus Journalists, the International Campus Journalism Conference, which is themed "Media Innovations and Technologies: Transforming the Face of Journalism in the Digital Age" on Saturday 4th of May, 2024 at Ajose Lecture Theatre, OAU.  The conference which served as an eye-opener for campus journalists, journalists, and other media practitioners, contained a Keynote Speaker, Guest Speaker, Breakthrough, and two Panel sessions, where campus Journalists learned from the speakers and panelists of each session. ACJOAU Holds Induction for New Members, Alumni Grace Event

Orisatoye Aminat, Edun Precious The Association of Campus Journalists, Obafemi Awolowo University has on Saturday held the Induction ceremony to welcome its recently registered members to the Association. Earlier, the association had held an examination for the inductees with the condition that only those get above expectations will be inducted. The induction ceremony which was held at the Social Science lecture theater, Faculty of Social Science, had in attendance, the President of the association, Gbolahan Latinwo, and other executive members of the association, the inductees, and other members of the association. Chairman, Guild of Editors grace event, as Public Voice inducts New Members.

  Oluwasegun Akintunde Public Voice News Agency, on Wednesday, November 28th, held her induction ceremony to welcome its new members. The event commenced with Miss Nelly Obianuju the Deputy EIC of the Agency hosting and Miss Mould Precious the Assistant General Secretary leading an opening prayer, setting a tone of reverence for the proceedings which began with singing the national anthem and the school anthem. Present at the event was the Chairman of the Guild of Editors, Adesina Ayomide, and Editor in Chief of Public Voice, Emmanuel Aluko. The inductees include Adeoye Pelumi, Oluwatomisin Damilola, and Olalekan Oluwatofunmi, among others.
