Former OAU Kilonshele EIC, Oluwafemi Emerges ACJOAU 52ND President-elect

Two Reporters of OAU Kilonshele News Agency have been elected into positions in the Association of Campus Journalists. The election held on Saturday, June 1st, between the hours of 10 am and 12:30 pm at the association's secretariat, saw the former Editor-in-Chief of OAU Kilonshele, Olabode Oluwafemi (Obafemi) elected as President and Tolulope Adeniran as Chairman, Guild of Editors.
Oluwafemi, who is currently serving as the Public Relations Officer of the incumbent administration, clinched the presidency with 29 votes, despite facing stiff competition from his opponent, Awotunde Theophilus, who secured 13 votes.
Similarly, Tolulope Adeniran, the current Editor-in-chief of OAU Kilonshele emerged with a total vote of 34 as the newly elected Chairman of the Guild of Editors.
The election, overseen by the ACJOAU Electoral Committee Led by a former PRO of the association, Adekunle Famuyiwa, was lauded for its fairness and transparency. In a statement issued by the commission, it provided a comprehensive breakdown of the results. The Electoral Committee also described the election as a free and fair one.
Other elected executives include Ogunlade David, who won the position of Public Relations Officer with 37 votes, and Ojegbola Mercy, who secured the position of Financial Secretary with 39 votes. Ogunwale Matthew was elected as Assistant General Secretary with a strong 40 votes, while Amosu Sharon secured the position of General Secretary with 34 votes. The incumbent Assistant General Secretary, Olatimehin Esther also garnered 39 votes to secure the position of Vice President.
Bello Oluwaferanmi, the PRO of the ACJOAU Electoral Committee, expressed gratitude to all members of the association, stating, "We would like to appreciate the members of this association for their participation and cooperation during this election."
