FASA Electoral Commission Holds Press Conference, Introduces New System of Voting

The electoral commission through its Chairman, Oluwamayowa Isaac Alabi, and its Secretary, Abidemi has said it has made a change of the usual paper vote to an electronic voting process. The chairman further explained that this change occured in order to maintain orderliness, transparency and fairness during the election.
Explaining the mode of election, he noted that the mode of election though, has not totally uttered the former voting process. Clarifying further that voters are still expected to get accredited at the polling booth, but the ballot boxes are now replaced with computers, which will require certain information such as an email and password to allow voters to vote at the pooling booth.
The Chairman, Oluwamayowa Alabi buttressed that, although, demo elections has been done in order to verify the feasibility of this system, more demo will be done at the debate and manifesto night schedule to hold on 21st June, 2024 to the generality of the association for further verification and authenticity.
He explained that the Commission promises an election free of insecurity and certain plans has been put in place in order to ensure there is safety for reporters, electorates and Electoral Committee members, He further urged the association to respect the member press in their engagement and activities at the debate and manifesto night.
The introduction of a new innovation of voting system, which is the Electronic System of Voting, led to an argument amongst present members of the association, where the students questioned the Commission, concerning the reason the former system of voting was left behind but the Electoral Commission choose the Electronic System. However, the chairman admonished them to be present at the debate and manifesto's night for the demo trial. He assured that if the trial demo of the election system fails, the Committee will consider other modes of election.
Conclusively, the Chairman assured the students of the Faculty of Art that the coming election will be a remarkable one, as it would be the freest and fairest election FASA ever had.
