The Education Students Association of Nigeria, Obafemi Awolowo University (ESAN OAU), through the Office of the General Secretary, recently hosted Brandthrive 2.0-an empowerment program themed "Unlocking Your Potential: Navigating Identity, Purpose, and Impact in a Dynamic World." The event, held on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at the Faculty of Technology Lecture Theatre, OAU, Ile-Ife, aimed to inspire students to discover and maximize their personal and professional potential.

The event began on a lively note as the master of ceremonies engaged attendees with games and introduced key guests, protocol officials, and members of the media. This interactive start helped set a positive and welcoming tone for the day. One of the speakers, Arch. Adeleke Adedayo (CEO, Weforte MultiChoice) , opened his session by challenging students with a thought-provoking question: “What do you want people to know you for?” He advised participants not to start a brand they cannot maintain and encouraged them to find a problem to solve in any business they wish to pursue. He stressed the importance of having a clear purpose, especially for multi-talented individuals who might lack resources, and concluded his speech to enthusiastic applause from the audience.

Another speaker, Oluwatumise Adesina, focused on the importance of identity and purpose. She explained that identity is what sets a person apart, while purpose is the driving force behind their actions. “Build your passion like a boss and let people respect you for your incredible purpose,” she said.

Adesina highlighted three key principles for building a personal brand: authenticity, which means knowing what you want and staying true to yourself; consistency, which involves showing up every day and not shying away; and impact, which is about making a positive difference in people’s lives. She also encouraged students to think ahead about life after graduation, stressing the importance of mentorship, networking, and having a ready CV. She left the audience with a memorable quote: “Your brand was never meant to blend in-it was meant to thrive.”

The event also featured the recognition of outstanding students and leaders within the association, celebrating their contributions to ESAN OAU and the wider university community.

Brandthrive 2.0 provided OAU students with practical insights on building a strong personal brand, finding purpose, and making a meaningful impact.
