Campaign Ban Lifted for Great Ife Students' Union Elections

The Electoral Commission of the Great IFE Students' Union has announced the lifting of the campaign ban for the upcoming Great Ife Students' Union elections. The decision comes after careful consideration and review of prevailing circumstances.

As of today, students contesting in the 2022/2023 elections are permitted to begin their campaigns. The Commission has emphasized the importance of allowing candidates to present their plans and engage with students to ensure a fair and transparent electoral process.

According to Statement released by the Commission, details regarding campaign activities, including guidelines, timelines, and procedures, will be released shortly. Furthermore, the statement noted that Candidates are expected to familiarize themselves with campaign rules and electoral directives to avoid any violations.

The sale of nomination forms is also set to commence soon, providing an opportunity for interested candidates to officially enter the race.


The Electoral Commission has reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining transparency, fairness, and accountability throughout the election process. Any violations of guidelines will be addressed promptly to ensure a level playing field for all candidates.
