Fishmane Emerges as President, as NAPS Elects New Executive Council

On June 21, 2024, the Department of Philosophy at Obafemi Awolowo University held its Central Executive Council (CEC) elections. The election commenced precisely at 9:45 AM following the validation of electorates, ensuring that only accredited voters participated. 

For the position of Assistant General Secretary, Otitoju Tolulope (Mummy GO) emerged winner unopposed, with a total of 127 votes. Adebayo Opeyemi, known as Purity, also secured the office unopposed, with a total of 126 Votes. 

For the position of Financial Secretary, Osuolale Oluwanifemi (King Niyo) emerged winner unopposed, with a total of 123 votes. Akinsete Oluwajomiloju (Jomi) also emerged winner unopposed for the position of Director of Sport, with a total of 137 votes. 

For the position of Director of Social, it was an intense dwell between Ogunshina Oluwaferanmi (Muller) and Adeyanju Omolola (Lola), with Muller emerging as the winner with 86 valid votes, while Lola secured 52 valid votes. 

For the position of Public Relations Officer, Oluwabode John (John of OAU) defeated Aasa Adedamola David, popularly known as Prime Boss, with a total of 94 valid votes, while Prime Boss had 45 valid votes.

For the position of General Secretary, Amos Bewaji (Kizer) secured the office unopposed, with 125 valid votes.

For the position of Vice President, it was almost a tie between Okoh Praise Ijeoma (Lady Praise) and Ajayi Tomisin (Tomi), with Tomi emerging as the winner, securing 74 votes, while Lady Praise secured 68 votes.

Lastly, for the position of President, Adekunle Michael (Fishmane) defeated Samuel Ayomide Ojo (PsalmVice), securing a total of 92 valid votes, while PsalmVice secured 46 valid votes.

After the voting process concluded, the Electoral Committee Chairman, Olaniyi Boluwatife David, announced the winners for each position following due process. The election was conducted smoothly, and the results reflect the collective decision of the accredited voters of the department.

OAU RELEASES FINAL LIST FOR 2017/2018 ADMISSIONS.

Friday, 12th January, 2018. By Olufemi Alfred .O.     In lieu of a recent publication by OAU KILONSHELE about the release of admissions list despite the strike, it has been gathered that Obafemi Awolowo University has submitted the final lists of admitted candidates to the Joint Admissions Matriculation Board (JAMB) on the 10th of January.     However, JAMB has began the uploading of the names on the Caps  section of the website as about 20 students have been confirmed by OAU KILONSHELE  to have been admitted      All candidates (Direct Entry and JAMB applicants)  , awaiting their names should log on to the JAMB website and check if they have been admitted.

OAU ADMISSIONS MERIT LIST UPLOADED ON JAMB WEBSITE.

      Few days ago, OAU KILONSHELE posted the release of Obafemi Awolowo University merit list for 2017/2018 admissions, it has been confirmed that some of the aspirants have seen their names on  JAMB's website.       Admission status can be viewed on the CAPS section of the website.           Below are the step by step procedures to access JAMB CAPS 1. Visit jamb.org.ng/efacility  preferably using a PC or chrome browser on mobile. 2. Login with the credentials( email and password) you created your jamb account with. 3. After successfully logging in, click on the options button ( the button with 3 dash) at the top of the page. 4. You'll see CAPS under the tag 'Admissions'. Click on it and you'll be taken to the CAPS page. 5. If the page only shows 'welcome', do not be discouraged. Just click on options on your mobile's browser and change the view of the page to 'desktop view'. This is why it's preferable to use a PC. 6.
