OAU: Department of Architecture Reinstates Students' Association After One Session

Obafemi Awolowo University's department of Architecture has reinstated her students' association, Ife Architecture Students' Association (IFASA) after it was suspended last session due to misconduct by the students.

The association was suspended for misconduct by the students and an investigative panel was set up by the department to look into the matter and give feedbacks.

However, in a circular released by the department yesterday, 14th of June, the suspension was lifted and transitional guidelines were given.

"Following the recommendations of the Departmental Investigation and Disciplinary Panel which investigated the activities of IFASA and IFASA executives under the 2017/2018 and last two preceding executives, the department hereby lifts the suspension on IFASA and the activities related to the association, with effect from today, Friday 14th June, 2019." This was stated in the circular.

The transitional guidelines that must be followed were also stated In the circular. The guidelines noted that the finances and documents of the association should be handed over to the interim executive. The guidelines also stated that the interim executive should report to the department and also make sure that an election is conducted for formation of proper executives.

The interim executive consists of class representatives from Part 1 to M.Sc. 2.
