Round-up: Aguero's Miss, Tottenham's Hope.

The Quater Finals of the 2018/2019 UEFA Champions League kicked off on Tuesday with Tottenham Hotspur at home against the Blue Army of Manchester City.

Still basking in the euphoria of their new stadium,Tottenham Hotspur had all it takes to play in their new stadium while the statistics were in favour of Manchester City.

Manchester City has been a rampant side this season brushing aside threats from teams like Arsenal,Manchester United and recently Brighton in the FA cup Semi- finals and the remarkable thumping of chelsea in the 6-0 win.

Manchester City dominated proceedings and the domination payed off when a penalty was awarded to the Cityzens.

Sergio Aguero who has been a contributing force to their spectacular season was handed the ball to blast the Cityzens from the penalty spot but the argentine had other ideas as he felt it would be necessary for him to be at the front page of  newspapers on Wednesday when he took the penalty and missed it.

A stage where his team probably needed him the most to secure an away goal but it was not.

The game grew into the 77th minute and Heung-min  Son of Tottenham gave his team the lead after he miscontrolled a pass from Christian Eriksen before making up for lost time and put the ball in between the legs of Ederson in the City goal.

One-nil was how it ended as Tottenham go into the second leg with a goal advantage. Aguero will be kicking himself for his lost opportunity.

Keita's moment lives on

Season signing, Naby Keita was on target for Liverpool as they strolled past Porto in the other Quarter final of the night.

After heavy criticisms during the season, the Liverpool midfielder has silenced his critics with two goals in two games.

The first being an equalizer against Southampton before scoring against Porto. Robert Firmino sealed it in the 26th minute to make sure Liverpool goes into the second leg with a firm grip on the semi finals.

The Wednesday football match between Manchester United and Barcelona is a popular and will attract more attention following Chris Smalling's, a United, boasting about how best he knows how to handle Messi.

Messi is known for doing his talking on the pitch and hopefully, he will reply Chris Smalling during the course of Wednesday's game.
