OAU: Philanthropic Organisation Extends Its Humanitarian Activities to Osogbo

Share and Care Africa, a Philanthropic organization, extended its ardent feelings for human lives to Osun state by visiting Abiye orphanage home, Osogbo.
Share and Care Africa was established in April, 2018 by Mr. Oseni Toheeb, a final year student of department of English, Obafemi Awolowo University and also the treasurer of faculty of Arts. "The motive behind the establishment of this organization are the problems the orphans are facing currently in Nigeria. The organization intends to fight for the survival of the vulnerable children and to protect their fundamental human rights. Our vision is to ensure hope of giving positive life to orphans and less privileged in Africa," he explained.
Mr. Olamide Ademola, a member of the organization familiarized the children with the members of the organization. The kids were counselled by Miss Oladele Anjola, a final student of guidance and counselling, Obafemi Awolowo University. She enlightened the children on the key words to the path to success which are: obedience, trustworthiness, discipline and self esteem. She also encouraged them not to be crowned with laziness. "You need to be consistent in working towards your goal. A tree cannot make a forest so don't be proud and you need to be independent" she said.
Adebayo Ayishat, a member of the organization who is a part four student of English, Obafemi Awolowo University also educated the children on sex education and gender. She explained to them on how to maintain personal hygiene especially the female ones, she also enlightened the female children on mensuration, development of breast, how to take care of body hair and to prevent body odour which is mostly caused by body sweat.
The children were also taught on how to use Ankara textile to sew an "head warmer" and some other benefits of Ankara textile which is used to sew bags, palm slippers, singlets, jackets, etc.
Babatunde Rahmot, a hundred level student of department of English, University of Ibadan who is also a member of the organization showed her happiness seeing those children in a very good health condition and also encouraged their members to keep on with the full commitment to the organization.
One of the children, Olabitan Yetunde, a thirteen year old girl, who is also a student of excellent comprehensive model college and also wish to be a doctor, expressed her gratitude and excitement about the visitation of the organization. "I am very happy to see you all and I will also like you to check us next tim. God will bless you," she said. She also praised the good attitude of their guardians.
Oladeji Ajoke Zainab, a fourteen year old girl who is also one of the children in the orphanage home voiced out her endless appreciation to the organization. She also made it known that the place has been so peaceful and that she will not give up on her career. "I like this place especially my friends. I want to become a lawyer and I will achieve that by focusing on my studies and be closer to God," she said.
Miss Bukola Adegbite, one of the guardians of the children who has been there for one and a half year made it known that it has not been a very difficult task to take care of the children. "Although, it can be difficult sometimes. If one of them falls sick, one of the guardians will stay with the kid in the hospital and it will be difficult for the other guardians to take care of the kids. We will be glad if the philanthropists can assist us in taking care of the kids. Even one of the children is in the hospital in need of money to carry out treatment for his illness."
Mr. Oyewole peter, a final year student of the department of education and social studies and also the president of the department who was invited was so happy to be at the programme and noted that the happiness experienced by the kids were due to the fact that they saw people showing them love and care. He encouraged the members to keep up with the good work and to make sure they get sponsors so as to enable progress in the organization. "I will just appeal to you people to have a positive mindset towards people like this. At least, if you cannot take care of the whole world, take care of one person closer to you and I will also encourage you all to continue doing this which might seem small for now but one day, the reward will come as long as you are preaching out to people," he said.
Mr. Oseni Toheeb,the founder of the organization appealed to people to be doing some regular visitation to the orphanage home which will serve as an encouragement to the orphan on their future career." I will implore Nigerians and Africans generally to check up and see the needs of the orphans," he said.
The orphans felt the new phase of happiness and excitement in life when they were visited with a lot of foodstuffs, provisions and some other needs for the children.
