OAU: Court Fixes Date for Trial of Suspected Cultists

Magistrate court, Ile-ife,  Osun state, has fixed the date for trial of 4 suspected cultists that were arrested on Obafemi Awolowo University campus.

The cultists were arrested earlier this month when they attacked during a musical performance by Zlatan Ibile in Amphitheater, OAU campus. The cultists were taken to the State Criminal Investigative Department, Osogbo and later arraigned.

The 4 accused pleaded "not guilty" in the court appearance which happened on Friday morning at the Magistrate court, Ile-ife. The 4 suspects were arraigned on 5 charges count ranging from Violence to armed robbery.

The judge ruled that the case should go to trial and that the suspects be remanded till 19th of July, the trial date.

Meanwhile, Obafemi Awolowo University is currently battling with a security challenge due to the scary release that circulated online 2 days after the arrest of the suspects.
