   Life they say, is in stages. To move from a stage to another, it requires an effort to surmount certain obstacles associated to our dream stage. In the life of students, school examination periods are one of the most dreadful periods, not because of anything, but due to tensed evaluative process. Some facts are meant to stay, so does Exams, because it's inevitable; and what is done to the inevitables? Confrontation is the perfect word.

Statistics revealed that about 50% of students get distabilized during exam periods, as such, points to be discussed below are intended to assist worrying student to stabilizing their peace:

STUDYING TIPS

Self Recognition: The first key to success is the principle of "Know thy self". Know your style of reading, level of assimilation, rate of picturization and reading location. Some assimilate facts fast while some take time to; some get things in a noisy environment while others do not; studying your style is important.

Time management: it's not a gain saying that majority of the youth lacks time management. Failure begins when priorities can't be set. It's a must that when preparing for exams, all distractions should be kept off scene for comfort and easy assimilation.Do not procastinate, allocate enough time to pressing courses, focus on the unknown than the known; and it's advisable to create a timetable in-line with the examination timetable.

Get questions: it's a necessity that past questions should be sought & solved, to give an insight into the way and manner such questions will be asked. Apart from that, hypothetical questions can be formed during reading, to enhance deeper understanding and better picturization. Discuss points with people, if non to discuss with, face the mirror and talk.

Summarization: Always give a summary of every points learnt, which will assist at the last minute revision.

HEALTH TIPS

Proper feeding: it's often common that during exam periods, there is less time for cooking; but it's advisable that during exam periods, eat more of nutritious foods like fish, nuts, yogurt to aid concentration and memory ; and avoid junks.

Hydration: being highly hydrated helps the brain to work at it's best. So drink lots of water while studying.

Recreation: it's advisable that you go on your best recreational activities; either listening to music, watching movies or playing football, all for relaxation.

EXAM HALL TIPS

Get to the exam center very early before the stipulated time; even if the venue is just a minute trek from your abode

Read instructions and questions well before answering and waste not too much time on a question, each question has it's own minutes. Make sure you explain all points to the letter, but don't be much of a Catholic than the Pope.

Give orderly arrangements to your work, don't panic and glance through it at the end.

In conclusion, examination is a necessary evil that lifts us to the next stage; without it, we remain stagnant. A word of advice, after the examination, don't compare your responses with that of others, give yourself a break; even if you have another exam that same day, the break is necessary.
