Dunnex Samuel, a well-known OAU activist, was impersonated by someone which led to students being scammed.

The impersonator who is yet to be identified broadcasted that Dunnex Samuel, the activist, was stranded and needed financial help. Dunnex Samuel, in a broadcast, said, "my attention has been brought to the fraudulent activity of an unknown element who is impersonating my identity to request financial help from people."

"I got an alert on Friday from a student who would have fallen victim of his antics. He claimed to be Dunnex and he was stranded at an undisclosed location so he needed financial aid. Fortunately, the student was able to call me before sending the money to him."

OAU Kilonshele can confirm that eight people have been victims of this antics as at the time of writing this report - 4 of which have been confirmed as executives of TESA, the students' body of faculty of Technology, OAU.

Speaking with Johnny Adeniyi, the vice president of the association, he confirmed that most of the executives of TESA have been victims of this antics. The president, vice president and Financial Secretary sent a combined money of 5 thousand Naira to the impersonator, others also sent.

When OAU Kilonshele asked Dunnex Samuel and Johnny Adeniyi, a victim of the antics, they confirmed that steps are being taken in order to discover the identity of the impersonator. Johnny Adeniyi, in a conversation with OAU Kilonshele said the association has been taken steps already but also revealed that he can not say much as regards the investigation due to not being in touch with the executives in charge of the investigation.

However, further findings show that the victims and Dunnex Samuel have a prime suspect. Dunnex, in a conversation with this correspondent, said "I've done some findings and I have a prime suspect. Though, it is still at the assumptive stage. The suspect has a reputation of duping his colleagues with false pretence."

The said suspect, who is also a student of the faculty, refused to comment when contacted by OAU Kilonshele. However, the vice president of the faculty revealed that investigation is going on.
