OAU shuts down Mosques adversely
2nd of September, 2016

On a holy day such as this when the peaceful Muslim students of this great nation in Obafemi Awolowo University gathered together to pray as one in the Central Mosque, a circular alleged to have come from the Division of Students ' Affairs as signed by Mrs Akinola, the Acting Dean designates the closure of two major students' Mosques in Fajuyi and Awolowo halls respectively.

From comments online gathered from a retracted OAU Kilonshele headline, it can be asserted that a great number of Great Ife students are not in support of this claimed absurd step by the school management.

According to the circular, the Mosques would be closed on Monday, 5th of September due to alleged reports of extremism from the part of some Muslim students having their meetings in the above named halls.

The report claims that the known MSSN and the alleged extremists have been called to tabled meetings to resolve their doctrinal differences but have been to no avail.

OAU Kilonshele gathered that the activities of these set of Muslim brothers and sisters have been accused by the President of National body, MSSN in person of Muhammed Jameel, of having possible similarities to Boko Haram Insurgency which has not been backed or supported with any proof of violence or misconduct.
