The body of Campus Journalist made it known that the university have started to take some steps towards tackling the issue of unstable power supply, security and the refurbishment of some parts of the buildings like the toilet.

The management of the University will facilitate a meeting with the owners of the hostels very soon so as to review and agree on the price for accommodation.

" The University registrar who also talked as regards the state of the hostel with respect to the skyrocketed amount paid by female hostel living at the hostel said "The university management will meet to discuss on that, and a meeting will be held with the owners of the hostel." the release stated.

It was also revealed that there will be an election of new Students' Union executives before the end of the semester after the lifting of the suspension of union activities. The union was suspended following some allegations of misdemeanours on the part of the union leaders.

In addition, the VC expressed his optimistic view about getting a vibrant union with transparent, responsible and accountable leaders at the helms of affairs soonest.

''what we don't want is a group of people that will not represent the ideals of Student Unionism in OAU, we want Students Unionism back as soon as possible, you'll realise that we didn't do anything to the Hall Executives which is still part of the Students Union.''

He further stressed the need for enlightenment programmes to educate and orientate the in-coming  and potential union officers if the university wants to maintain the lead for other universities in students' Unionism.
