OAU KILONSHELE editor, others bag NUMA awards.

Last weekend, the editor-in-cheif of OAU KILONSHELE news agency, Alfred Olufemi, won the best Nigerian university news editor category of the 2018 Nigeria Universities Merit Awards (NUMA).
The award ceremony hosted at the ancient city of Ile-Ife, was graced by university students from different geo-political zones of the country.
The Dean Student’s Affair Obafemi Awolowo University, Prof. Isiaka Aransi; Ex- presidential candidate, Prof. Remi Sonaiya; Nigerian musician, Brymo and the Manager of Ovation international, Segun Adebowale were all in attendance.
According to the head of the organising team, Olanrewaju Oyedeji, in his speech, the purpose of the event was to celebrate Nigerian students who have worked tirelessly in their contributions across all campuses in Nigeria.
Prof. Sonaiya while addressing the audience, stated that the country is endowed with young talents, to take her to the promise land. The ex-presidential candidate gave some examples of how Nigerian youths have made the country proud, the story of the Anambra girls who came tall in a competition in Scotland.
In his admonishment, Professor Aransi, who also represented the Vice Chancellor, Obafemi Awolowo University, Prof Eyitope Ogunbodede, advised Nigerian youths to work hard in everything they lay their hand upon.
Among the list of winners of other categories are;
Best Nigerian campus journalist - Mr Adejumo Kabiru,
Best University News Editor in Nigeria- Mr Alfred Olufemi,
Best University Student’s Union in – Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomosho,
Best Student’s Bank- Union Bank of Africa (UBA),
Most promising Nigerian student- Imran Abdullah (Bayero University, Kano)
and many others.
