Students of  Obafemi Awolowo University, OAU, has reacted to Fela Durotoye's visit to the university community on Wednesday.

Fela Durotoye, a presidential aspirant for 2019 election, was welcomed by principal officers of the school and representatives of the alumni body.

The speaker, also an alumni of the university, spoke extensively on the creation of value which will lead to prosperity under the theme; 'Get Inspired' at the Oduduwa hall of the institution.

"Having determination for yourself is the starting point for a successful path. Once you are determined, opportunities will be seen in the area of passion." The motivational speaker said.

Also, citing the example of Michael Jackson, he added that human name can have a value depending on your determination to succes for Michael Jackson to make 70 million pounds in 7 hours, then you can make a way."

Meanwhile, after the lecture, Fela Durotoye had a selfie session with students of the school, which was welcomed by criticism from some of the students.

Koye-Ladele Mofehintoluwa, a law student of the school, challenged the speaker about winning elections with oratory prowess and taking selfies with students without giving room for questions.

He emphasized that "the motivational speaker who is a presidential aspirant wanted to evade questions by taking pictures."

Another student, Emman Emmanuel, added that the speaker  was more interested in selfies than questions.

"I saw more or less a pastor than a good governance advocate in Fela."

Emman referring to the Speaker's speech, also posted on his Facebook account saying "His message was about wealth and capitalist exploitation. We would only end up making youths more desperate to amass wealth through internet fraud and other bad means."

Also, Peter Oyebanji, opined that Fela was not wrong to have snapped pictures but as a presidential aspirant, he should have created enough time for questioning.

However, the Students' representative at the event and one of the organisers, Akindipe Israel, told our correspondent that a 'question and answer' session was part of the programme but the students were not patient enough.

"Our plan was that the speaker will entertain questions after the photo session with students." He said.

Mr. Akindipe made it known that the speaker proceeded to Ife market to greet market men and women who have anticipated his visit.
