OAU ICT CENTRE SPEAKS ON POST-UTME RESULTS AND COURSE REGISTRATION.

   The post UTME Aptitude Test for Obafemi Awolowo University 2017/2018 admissions was conducted between 23rd- 30th of September 2017. The result of the week-long test was released on October 4.

     Many of the candidates who sat for the test complained about some irregularities in the conducting and the released results.

      Adedokun John, an aspirant of the faculty of Agriculture, who spoke with OAU KILONSHELE stated that he was given 6/40 in the Aptitude Test score.

     Also, Adeniji Emmanuel, an aspirant of the department of Civil engineering and Adewumi Rachael, who filled in for Microbiology had 0/40 as their Aptitude Test scores.

     Some students complained about the reduction of their aggregate percentage compared to what was initially released as candidates' JAMB scores were removed from the 'seal embossed' results.

     Speaking with OAU KILONSHELE this afternoon, one of the unit head of the ICT Centre of the university, Mr. Olakunle Philips emphasized that the reduction was due to the removal of the JAMB scores in the calculation. He added that they've been working on complaints and all complaints as regards wrong scores have been worked on.

     "Their JAMB scores weren't added and it resulted in the reduction of their percentages."  He said.

     However, he explained that admission consideration can't be determined until the release of the cut-off marks.

    " No one knows whether some are to be considered for admission or not till the university releases her cut-off points for admission consideration."  He stated.

     Also, he made it known to our correspondent that the inability of some students not to register courses for the Rain semester is due to the failure and delay by the Heads of their departments to define the courses.
    He explained saying ;
    " Some students are yet to register because their HODs have not been able define the courses, in terms of the course titles and the lecturers to handle those courses. So,  students should not panic."
