UCL Round-up: Humiliation of Juventus and the Reds.

The Return leg of the UEFA Champions league Quarter-finals, Matchday 1, had football fans all over the world in a frenzy mood.

The two greats of the game, Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi were both in action. Ronaldo's Juventus and Messi's Barca were favourites to qualify against their opponents on Tuesday evening but not all stories end with "happily ever after"

Juventus welcomed Ajax to the old lady stadium in Turin at the back of an away goal in the first leg and all odds were in their favour to go through on paper. Cristiano Ronaldo gave the hosts an early lead after he ran into space to nod the ball into the back of the post to produce a sublime finish.

Chants of 'Ronaldo-Ronaldo-Ronaldo' filled the arena as the myth of Ronaldo being the messiah to deliver the Champions League trophy to the Juventus board started looking like a reality.

PJuventus pressed for a second goal to grab the driving seat in full control but Ajax Fc were not willing to go down without a fight, Van De Boek scored just four minutes after Ronaldo's goal to put the scores level at 1-1.

The Second half began with the same intensity but it was Ajax's captain who has been heavily linked with a move to Barcelona who put Ajax in the lead and ended up being the goal that will send Ronaldo and his Cohorts out of the Champions League.

It is the first time in 9 years that a semi-final will be played without Ronaldo participating. It is indeed true that a man does not make a team in the case of Juventus.

On the other hand, Manchester United, the red army of Manchester, lined up for the return leg of their Quater-Final clash against Barcelona.

Although chances were slim of their qualification but United faithfuls hoped for a comeback like they did at PSG.

It looked like a comeback was in the books when Marcus Rashford found himself in the box and took a shot which only ended up hitting the bar.

A strong start by United and hopes were being kept alive but somethings happen in life that we don't see coming neither do we prepare for it.

After a penalty was ruled out by the VAR which would have resulted in the perfect chance for Barcelona to take the lead until it was cancelled but it did not hold them back.

Lionel Messi scored with both feet in the space of four minutes. The second goal resulting in a very big error from United's acclaimed best keeper in the world as the ball slipped under his arms and rolled majestically into the net.

The game became physical as United players could not hide their frustration which resulted in some bookings. The second half started like the first and Coutinho who is known for his curling strikes hit one past De Gea just to remind everyone about his qualities.

The match ended 3-0 with Manchester United being evicted like outcasts with an aggregate scoreline of 4-0. A very disastrous result for Solksjaer who has only being offered a contract barely a month ago.
