In the 2nd half of 1950, after the Western region decided that it was needful to build universities to add to the maiden university in Ibadan, they chose Arieh Sharon and tasked him with the job.

There is this believe among OAU students and non-OAU students who are lovers of OAU's structures that OAU is the most beautiful campus in Africa.

This belief is so strong that the second line of the school's anthem agrees that the varsity is , "Africa's most beautiful campus."

Although, due to the way the country has been running the educational system for more than 20 years, it will be quite ridiculous to claim it is the most beautiful campus in the continent with the need for renovation in some parts.

But you really do not have to walk too far to see the amazing work Arieh Sharon did.

"Is OAU the most beautiful campus in Nigeria?" Is a question that has sparked fierce debates over time. From Nairaland to My school, there is hardly a  bloglike site where you wouldn't see a debate about this.
