Olabode Oluwafemi  The Great Ife Students' Union Electoral Commission Chairman, Ayebiele Oluwajuedalo has said he never saw the mistake engulfed in the electioneering process coming. The statement was made in an interview with ACJOAU shortly after the declared inconclusive and cancelation of Faculties of Administration and Social Sciences Students' Union SRC election which was brawled with outburst as earlier reported by OAU KILONSHELE . Oluwajuedalo who stated he apologize to the "entirety of Great Ife Students" also made known the mistakes were a result of technical error and the screened-out of an aspirant on the ballot papers at Faculty of Education was on the ground of his impeachment from Great Ife Students' Union Judicial Council.  "The criteria to disqualify or qualify a candidate is a sole responsibility of the Electoral Commission." The Faculty of Administration and Social Sciences Great Ife Students' Representative Council election has geared inconclusive following pandemonium from both polling units. According to reports gathered by ACJOAU correspondents, the outburst came as a result of the non-appearance of some aspirants' data on the ballot papers. The Electoral Commission Chairman, Ayebiele Oluwajuedalo who later made himself available stated the issue was a result of technical glitches suggesting either the election gets postponed or names of the candidates get handwritten.  The Dean of Students' Affairs, Prof. Isiaka Aransi who was at the scene later pronounced cancelation of the voting exercise with the election rescheduled to hold at a yet-to-be-announced date. "The Faculty of Administration electoral body has packed the ballot papers to the security office as the election has been rescheduled.  The Dean of Students' Affairs, Prof. Aransi announced the postponement of the election.

Damola Badmos   Well, lateness is a rising defect but a common phenomenon in Africa. Great Ife Electoral Commission 2023 did not disappoint in the bid to achieve these norms. Alongside their shambly attitude, the inability of ACJOAU to handle this debate means some set of individuals were employed by the Electoral Commission to moderate. Well, it's worth pondering over as the standard of the debate will be questionable as we go on.  The debate scheduled for 3 pm started at exactly 4:30 pm.   Damola Badmos     A Presidential candidate from the Faculty of Law, Peace Oyeniyi - Olu Peace in the forthcoming Great Ife Students' Union election slated for Thursday, June 1 has stepped down for one of the contending candidates who emerged from the Faculty of Agriculture, Ojo Abbas Akinremi - Lordfem. In a statement signed by the campaign team for Olu Peace, his decision is as a result of the experience, capacity and human management skills possessed by his fellow candidate. Following the upliftment of the ban on Great Ife Students' Union electoral process, the Association of Campus Journalists, Obafemi Awolowo University has issued a withdrawal release from the electoral debate.  The release signed by the President, Faith Alofe which stated came after a last-minute set down of terms, conditions and modalities by the electoral commission. The Association of Campus Journalists OAU regardless further assures prompt election updates as the union goes to poll. Politics has been perceived to be a game of age and experience in Nigeria. The general sentiments favored the participation of the older generation; they were perceived to understand the intricacies of the game. The 2023 General elections, however, triggered a paradigm shift, or rather, a mental and ideological shift. It ignited the political consciousness of young Nigerians and made them actively participate in the electoral process.  Now, young Nigerians stay up all night during parties’ primary elections, glued to their phone screens, monitoring electioneering processes across the country, and actively campaigning for political candidates of their choice. OAU KILONSHELE  Popular Nigerian comedian, actor and prophet, Woli Arole narrated his struggling days as an undergraduate at the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) saying he never believed he could become a source of inspiration to anyone today.   OAU KILONSHELE  Prof. Cyril Agodi Onwumechili, the 4th Vice-Chancellor University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University) is dead. In a release obtained by OAU KILONSHELE from the family of the deceased confirming the death of the former Vice-Chancellor stated; "It is with great sadness that we the family of Prof C.A. Onwumechili announce the passing of father yesterday. Ajibade Abdullah Adewale As part of the activities for the 50th anniversary and the International Campus Journalism Conference(ICJC), the Association of Campus Journalists On Wednesday, May 3, 2023, visited Urban Day Secondary School, Ile Ife to educate the students on the benefits of Media Literacy and the danger of Fake news.  Engaging the students, Adeyanju Michelle, a member of the association highlighted the advantages of media literacy. Falana Writes Inspector General of Police Over Killing Of OAU Student

  Human rights lawyer and activist, Femi Falana, has written to the Inspector General of Police, Mr Usman Alkali Baba, over the murder of a final year student of the Obafemi Awolowo University Ile-Ife. As earlier reported by OAU KILONSHELE , the victim Okoli Ahize was said to have been beaten to death on April 11 over the alleged stealing of a mobile phone at Awolowo hall of residence. Three weeks after his death, Falana in the letter requested the IGP to “furnish us with information about the investigation of the suspects”.   Olabode Oluwafemi   Following a week's suspension, Adedokun Samuel - Sammy G, Law Students' Society OAU Executive President has been impeached over accusations and allegation of "financial discrepancies" and misconduct. The impeachment was immediately followed by a suspension pronounced on Tuesday, 25th April after a petition filed against the executive termed "extortion, breach of trust, violation of official and constitutional duty and misconduct."
