Arguably the oldest Organization on Campus, The Alpha Club, a social Club has put together a week long Charity program at the Obafemi Awolowo University.
The Event which was geared towards giving back to the society is an annual ritual of the club, with this year's edition tagged "Making a Difference."
As part of activities lined up, Free Bus Rides were offered to students of the institution on Monday to kick-start the event. Furthermore, Blood Donation Exercise was carried out on Tuesday to Thursday in collaboration with the National Blood Transfusion Services (NBTS) Ibadan at Physical Health and Education, White House Basement and Biological Science Basement.
Meanwhile, Thanksgiving and Donation to the Central mosque OAU and a visitation to covenant orphanage home Moro have been slated for Friday and Saturday - while an interdenominational Service at our Lady of perpetual light chapel will mark the climax on Sunday.
Speaking to our correspondent on the blood donation exercise, leader of the group and Lord Mayor, Ojo Olorunfemi Emmanuel said the aim of the gesture was in a bid to aid humanity.
"Most People are in desperate need of blood in Nigeria can't afford it and even those that can afford it find it very hard to access it. We want to make sure that blood is available, accessible and affordable to people who need it at anytime." He said.
The Alpha Club was founded in 1968 with the basic aim of making the world a better place through charity.
