RCCG’s Pastor Adeboye Holds Mega Crusade in OAU Ile-Ife
The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) stormed Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife today, 17th January, 2023, in a 2-day open air crusade. The programme kicked off this Wednesday and will continue tomorrow Thursday, 18th January.
The program commenced around 4pm at the New Crusade Ground near OAU Sports Complex with over 5,000 attendees, including staffs, students and nearby visitors from Ife and suburbs in attendance.
Irrespective of the fact that many students are currently in the week of tests, the interested believers among them still trooped out en masse to witness the program.
It started with a choir ministration and plethora of worship songs for about 45 minutes before Pastor Joshua Ojo led a 7-minute intercession for the University. After then, Pastor Mathew Oyelami took over for another 7-minute intercession for the Country before other series of activities held.
Guest ministration was on till the General Overseer mounted the podium around 5:35pm to preach to a mammoth audience eagerly anticipating his arrival. The Theme of the Crusade was ‘UNDER THE SHADOW OF HIS WINGS’ and according to the flier, was drawn from the book of Psalms 17:8.
GREAT IFE SYNDROME; easily deduced as the most religious campus in the country. Not so surprised at the turn out. He finally concluded his teachings at 7pm after which other minor activities went on. The program ended around 7:05pm abruptly and it continues tomorrow 6am at the same venue.
