Following the sealing of the Man O' War club secretariat by the Adekunle Fajuyi Hall of Residence executives over alleged assault, the club's leadership has issued a stern counter-release, denying the accusations and demanding justice.

The incident, which occurred on the night of Thursday, May 2nd, 2024, sparked tensions within the university community after the hall executives alleged that a Fajuyian, was subjected to unjust treatment by members of the Man O' War club for attempting to pass excreta near their base.

In an emergency public counter-release, the office of the Chief Coordinator of Man O' War vehemently refuted the claims made by the Fajuyi Hall Executive Council, labelling them as false allegations and fabrications.

"We categorically deny the claims made by the Fajuyi Hall Executive Council regarding an alleged physical altercation between a Man O' War member and a student. At no point was there any physical engagement between our members and the student in quesreads" the statement reads.

According to the club's release, a student, whose legal occupancy of the Fajuyi Hall of Residence is questionable, was observed near their base attempting to defecate, a recurring issue they aim to address. The statement asserts that upon being signalled to cease his actions, the student refused to comply, prompting the intervention of the Chief Coordinator and Chief Training Officer to resolve the situation peacefully.

The Man O' War club emphasized its commitment to promoting discipline and building a respectful community, operating under strict guidelines that prohibit any form of physical violence or aggression towards students, whether members or non-members.

Furthermore, the statement accused certain individuals of tarnishing the club's reputation with baseless accusations and alleged that they have endured various acts of provocation and disrespect from certain Fajuyi Hall occupants, particularly those from Block 4, who have impeded their activities and subjected them to harassment.

In a bold stance, the Man O' War club has demanded justice and the immediate reopening of their secretariat, which was sealed by the Fajuyi Hall Executive Council. They assert that their club is an integral part of the esteemed institution and deserves to carry out its activities without unwarranted hindrance.

While addressing the residents, the Chairman of Adekunle Fajuyi Hall of Residence, Olaore David noted that after investigation has been done, the secretariat will be opened. Further more, he stated that the squad of the Man O'War club will no longer have any drill in the hall, but will have their drills at the Fajuyi Hall car park.
