AY SUG, 14/15 SU Fin Sec denies accusation, calls Dr Afolabi, Vice Dean DSA a Blatant Liar
AY SUG's statement as released
AFOLABI A BLATANT LIAR; NO PEACE FOR THE WICKED
It is quite a scene to behold, the blackmail succeeding attacks encountered by our union from the immediate past administration of the school management which has been recently defined by the present school management as petty liars.
The statement made by the vice dean of DSA, Dr B. S. Afolabi at the Great Ife Students' Summit claiming that the Students Union received a sum of 2.5 million naira and squandered it within 3 days holds nothing but falsehood and should be proven and backed up with facts. At no point in time did the Students Union during the 2014/2015 administration receive any such disbursement from the school management through the Madam Durosinmi led DSA whom Dr Afolabi deputized. The Students Union in two disbursements received 2 million naira and 1.5 million in June and Sept/Oct 2015 respectively. The last transaction of the union was on 28/11/2015 as shown to the ACJ with evidential facts backing it up.
It is very noteworthy that the allegations levied against the union seems to be a cover-up to the crimes of the Madam Durosinmi led administration as the DSA withheld all such money belonging to the union as a result of dues paid into the school's account by students over a period of about 3 years following the suspension of the union during the F Jay era in 2011, money summing up to about 20 million naira and only a meager of the dues paid for the embattled session out of about 9 million naira was released at will thus denying the Union access to its fund.
The first and second reimbursement were audited by the DSA and it was thereon resolved that the Union should be reimbursed for the third time in the administration but this was cut short by the heat on campus following the protests, school closure and suspension of Union activities. The campaign for the welfare struggle may have been a more strengthened struggle if such fund was released at that point in time and the DSA was very tactical at that point to disallow such. It is so ridiculous that one Dr B. S. Afolabi parading himself as the vice dean of DSA, a pure educated jackass with no love of the interest of the Union at heart could go ahead in feign of blackmail and ill repute against the Union out of his opened hatred for a vibrant and radical Students' Union body in claiming that the Union was reimbursed of a gruesome amount of money, an attempt to popularize his person blankly and to force himself to be labelled as a lover of this Union.
I hereby urge Dr Afolabi to prove his claim beyond reasonable doubt with empirical and convincing facts and evidences that his acclaimed 2.5 million naira was given to the union and was squandered within 3 days. I however urge the generality of Great Ife Students not to take Dr. B. S. Afolabi serious because he is on a journey of no return.
