OAU Students' Union: Newly Elected Officers Assume Office

Following the student union election, the University management has sworn in the newly elected student union officer on Wednesday.
The inauguration which was held at the Institution's Amphitheatre had Ojo Abbas Akinremi 'Lordfem' as the Union President alongside other HEC, SRC and CEC members.
Other Executive members sworn in along are Adekoya Omoyosola as Vice President; Akinboni Opeyemi as General Secretary; Alo Anthony as Assistant General secretary; Omisore Elijah as Public Relations Officer Damilare Ezekiel as Financial Secretary; Moses Oyebamiji as Social Director; Folakan Paul as Welfare Director and Sumbade Saudiq as Director of Sports.
Speaking at the event, the University Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Simeon Bamire congratulated the Students' Union officers, urging them to be conscious of their academic sojourn while serving the student populace. He further admonished for a peaceful reign administration while resisting radical moves capable of disrupting the University community.
The Dean of Students' Affairs Prof. Isiaka Aransi in his speech titled "Dawn of new era" charged the Union Officers to resist in-fight and embrace dialogue rather than confrontation in resolving conflicts.
"I wish to specifically warn you against in-fighting or beefing between members of the Executive Council and Students' Representative Council."

Reacting to his emergence, Ojo Abbas Akinremi, the Students' Union President called for collaborative support geared towards the sustenance of his administration. According to him, the administration is centered on three-point agenda that recognizes the challenges of the students.

From enhancing healthcare services to expanding scholarship opportunities, we will strive to create an environment that fosters holistic growth and supports your aspiration." He stated.
