OAU KILONSHELE EDITOR CLINCHES DOUBLE CAMPUS JOURNALISTS AWARDS IN ABUJA.

Last weekend in Abuja, Olufemi Alfred, the editor-in-chief of OAU KILONSHELE news outfit won the Best editor of the year and the Best journalist of the year categories in the Campus Journalists Awards organized by Youth Digest organization.
The award ceremony was witnessed by dignitaries, including; Femi Adeshina, the Special Adviser to the President on media matters; Dapo Olorunyomi, the publisher of Premium Times newspaper; the press secretary to the Niger state governor;Jaffar Jaffar, the editor of Daily Nigeria newspaper; reporters from different newspapers, amongst many others.
Dapo Olorunyomi, the guest speaker for the event, spoke extensively on "curbing hate speech on social media". In his words, he mentioned that journalists are meant to hold government officers accountable to the masses.
Meanwhile, speaking with the winner, Olufemi Alfred expressed his happiness and gratitude to God and the organizers.
" I will like to appreciate Youth Digest, tge organizers of this event for the merit based award. In this age of instagram voting for awards, they were able to come up with the ideal way by setting up the panelists." He said
" Campus Journalism should be vibrant on all Nigerian campuses. Student journalists are doing very fine but I believe we can all do better. The sky is the limit," He added.
However, Adejumo Kabir from Obafemi Awolowo University won the Best investigative journalist, Temitope Samuel from Federal University of Technology Akure won the sports Writer, Ibrahim Adeyemi from Usman Danfodio University Sokoto won the campus essayist, Ifedayo Ogunyemi from Moshood Abiola Polytechnic won the Best pen club, Ebere Good luck from Covenant University won the best Author, Jemniifer Chisom from Nnamdi Azikwe University won the Best online Magazine, Tomori Uriel from University of Ilorin won the Best Print Magazine, and many others.
