We Want to Raise ACJ OAU Back to Its Normal Standard - President

The newly elected president of Association of Campus Journalists, OAU (ACJ OAU), Oludiran Olusola Abidemi has revealed that one of his administration's target is to raise the association back to its normal standard.
Mr. Oludiran, who was sworn in by the electoral commission on February 2 after being elected on February 1, revealed this to our correspondent in an interview.
Mr Oludiran disclosed his plans and how he intends to acheive tthem He talked about increasing the level of participation by news agencies and addressing issues on campus with integrity and high sense of responsibility.
"I want everyone to know that fulfilling of promises made during the campaign is my paramount goal. Another thing is that, we want to ensure sanity is propelled and raise ACJOAU to its normal standard."
When asked how he wants to achieve the goals, Mr. Olusola said, "ACJOAU is meant to be educative, informing and to be a neutral body to the generality of Obafemi Awolowo University, by doing so in journalistic manners without any ambiguity both to members of the association and the school at large."
"We will start doing that with our members, we will train them and in doing so, this will sensitise them to give good reportage to the generality of OAU, more so those trainings are going to serve as a platform to enlighten them on how to write well investigated news pieces."
Mr Oludiran also talked about improving the welfarism of journalists on campus and about the addressing of issues going on in the university.
"Another is the welfarism of our members, we shall make that our priority in the sense that all news agencies are going to have their say in the administration... Irrespective of your news agency."
"Lastly , we shall also make sure that every issue going on on campus is well addressed and taken to necessary quarters. By doing that with integrity and high sense of responsibility, we believe our goals shall be achieved."
The winners of the election as announced by the chairman of the electoral commision, Awoyenjesu Olamide are: Oludiran Olusola Abidemi - president, Abdulazeez Taiwo Lateefat - Vice-president, Kehinde Babajide Ifeoluwa - General Secretary, Abayomi Juliana Morenike -Assistant General Secretary, Olayemi Blessing Olayinka - Public Relations Officer and Adeleke Victor Temitayo - Financial Secretary."
