The Division of Students' Affairs (DSA) of Obafemi Awolowo University has told the resident of Fajuyi hall that they can stay but make sure not to disrupt the renovation process.
This was after the Porters of the hall announced to the students that they should vacate their various rooms for proper renovation.
The Dean of Students' Affairs, Professor Isiaka Aransi on his visit to Adekunle Fajuyi Hall of Residence made this known on Tuesday evening.
It should be recalled that this news outfit reported the official release by the division stating that students should vacate halls of residence so that renovation can begin.
The renovation has started with felling of trees and painting of blocks.
A correspondent of this news agency gathered that the porters announced that the students should make way for the workers for proper renovation before the dean's visit.
Mr. Aransi however talked to the students and told them that they can stay in the hall but they will have to make sure they don't disturb the workers.
When asked if they were told to vacate their rooms, he said "the porters announced this on Tuesday morning that we should vacate the rooms so that the workers won't be disturbed when working but now we have been told we can stay," Tolu, a resident of Annex, block A said.
"The porters told us this morning to leave the rooms so that the renovation can be carried out, more like an indirect way of telling us to vacate the hall of residence."
The renovation has started fully as they have started painting the Annex part of the building and buckets of paints have also been made available.
It should be noted that the rain semester begins on 30th of September as course registration commenced on Wednesday.
